they seem to be loving him at bradford, hope he has a good couple of months and comes back fighting for a first team place! http://bcafc.livewwware.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=65785
I just hope NP can be brutally honest and for Devitt's sake tell him he's not good enough at Championship level yet. Look at John Walters, few seasons in the lower leagues did him no harm and now he's in the the Prem. Devitt needs to leave us and start fresh somewhere, same with Cullen.
Or why not loan him out and not lose the option of having him in two three years when he is ready for this level. Their is potential there we just need to wait for it to develop.
Well said Geo !!! Totally agree. Devitt and Cullen no good at Championship level nor will they ever be. Both good league 1 players at best. They would do well at somewhere like Scunny.
they are what you call rave reviews, they'd like him to stay all season and I think NP will sanction that if Brady loan gets extended, but if not there's Pusic.
Few harsh reviews on Devitt. Brilliant crosser of the ball, at times appears to have an experienced head on his shoulders. Give him a chance, he's not exactly on high wages and we wouldn't exactly get much of a fee for him, why not hang on for a bit?
I've always rated Devitt and think other than being a scrawny bastard the only other thing he's let down by is his indeciveness, which will come with time and experience.
I like Devitt, if he can learn to head a ball and make the odd tackle, he could be a handy player. He's only just 21 and I think it's too early to write him off.
Not ready for this level. Would certainly benefit from going to a league 1 side. One looking for promotion like the two sheffield clubs. He is too good for league 2. Needs more of a challenge.
Are they talking about the same player?!? Seriously, and no disrespect to the lad, but he's got no chance of getting a regular slot in our team. He cant get in when our main right winger (that's where I reckon Cam will play, not left) is injured. They say they've got no chance of signing him prem, I reckon we'd snap their hand off for any bid.
Think it is impossible for him to put on weight. He is too weak which will cost him playing in the CCC or higher. League 1 player for me.
McManaman (Liverpool & Real Madrid) was all skin and bones too and look at his career, not saying Devitt will ever reach his heights but Jamie has got the ability to play Championship level IMO.
He is a good little footballer, I am surprised they didnt get him on an intensive weight lifting/strengthening regime over the summer as he is still weak. I want him to stay after this loan, I am sick of us not bringing through any from our youth set up. It is truly shocking how few come through and get into the first team.
Not writing him off at all, just don't think its worth keeping players who are not good enough at this level and who have had chances to impress but not taken them - we can't keep saying "give him time and he'll come good". Better for the player to drop down the leagues and get regular football and a chance to develop with less pressure - when and if there good enough they'll climb back up the leagues.
I've never been convinced with Devitt . I also think he 's had plenty of chances but can't appear to deliver a performance when it matters .
Being the best player in that team will give him lots of confidence, hes too light weight for the championship though
