Jamie Carragher wants to see a new rule introduced to stop football clubs changing their manager during the season.

I just cannot see this rule being enforced, but perhaps clubs who change there manager's regularly over a five year period (Fulham have had three manager's this season) will be warned by the powers that be (FA, Premier League and Football League) that some sort of punishment will come in if they continue to make managerial changes.

Would you have a points deduction if clubs have ten manager's in five years for example and what happens if someone is too ill to stay in the managerial role like Tito Vilanova at Barcelona ???

It would never work, sounds a good idea but its up to the chairman of football clubs to choose who they want as manager. The current merry go round of managerial changes may not be ideal but its not something you can get rid of. Better method would be to improve the fit and proper persons test rather than anything else.

As much has i would like to give some gesture of goodwill towards Carragher for his idea, I feel this is nothing more than the cream looking after the cream as usual. If JC really would like to focus his attention on misgivings within football, how about the obscene transfer fees and wages regarding players. What was it recently for Wayne Rooney, I don't follow the Prem?

To be honest i find the money banding around in football just as disgusting. And the more i think about this the more I want to tell JC to stick his idea where the sun don't shine. The man himself works for SKY Sports dare i say no more!

Also the idea would not be as simple to implement as he may thinks, what about employment law, that will have any over riding factor on what the FA might decide, just ask our Chairman.

Jimmy Hill started the ball rolling with players wages and we all know where that ended up. So i have a suggestion for Mr Carragher and what is another sensible suggestion, sort out the stench and mess Jimmy started and SKY now own, then I might have time to take him more seriously.

Couldn't agree more about the wages bit brb.

When whole clubs can fold owing the amount players in the Premiership earn in just one month, then something is seriously wrong.

Trouble is, it will never change except for the worse, because it's market (and marketing) driven.

Personally, I think that if a club wants to change it's manager, then they should do it in the transfer window, just like the players.

I would like to see a wage cap from the clubs, but who would set it?
No doubt, whatever would be put in place, some slimy lawyer would find a loophole to exploit
