To any saints fans that went to Selhurst Park. How did the above get on? Do you think they both potentially will make it in our first team? Adkins seems to rate them highly. Also did Reeves play up front with Forte last night? I thought he was a wide player? what is his favoured position?

I thought they both did fairly well - Ward-Prowse caught my eye a bit more than Reeves in terms of input, passing was good and he also got a talking to from the ref at one point which I think shows he'll get stuck in. He had a few potentially good key passes that were just slightly off but the fans gave him a lot of support when they didn't quite come off.

I think he would cope in the first team, hard to say last night since of the first team only Cork and Schneiderlin were present most of the game. Might do better with a stronger core of players around him.

Both good, as said, Ward-Prowse caught my eye more.

Worked very hard, offering options and spread the ball about well. Good vision and well composed. Alongside Schneiderlin he excelled and they looked a good partnership, dominating the midfield.

Was impressed with the backing he got from the crowd, great to see.

Reeves had a very good first half but drifted out in the second half, he is a tiny little guy but he reminds of Lallana. Has skill to get away from players and has great passing awareness, sadly not everything came off for him, but is definatly one to keep for the future. Ward-Prowse looked so comfortable on the ball, played some decent balls through, couple of times he tried some Schneiderlin long distance passes which didn't come off, but at least he was trying and some where not far off perfect. The most important thing is both of them didn't look out of place.

Thanks form your views. They do both look promising by the sounds of it. When we get back to the premier league hopefully we can hang onto our gems for a little longer! So what is Reeves best position do you think?

Reeves looks good behind the striker but Forte can't play up front on his own so we didn't create much yesterday. I would like to see how he does with a striker that is more natural to play the lone striker but I think he could play well as a winger as well.
I thought Ward-Prowse looked excellent yesterday. He may have played a lot of safe options when passing but he looked very comfortable for 16 years old.

i didnt think morgan was that good?? but onto topic and i thought reeves looked ok first half - didnt notice him second half, thats not to say i think he did badly - IMO i didnt have negative things to say about him which is a plus i think.

as for JWP I was very impressed, looked very assured on the ball, confident passing (not all came off) but he looks to have some very good technical ability and whats more he didnt looked fazed by it.
he almost played as a holding midfielder as he sat back and sprayed the ball about, which suits our style of play but he would need a box to box player alongside him like chaplow or hammond to have more impetus. from what i saw he looks like he could be very good at dictating the play and the biggest compliment i think i can give is that he wouldnt look out of place if he started with the big names, if we tried him in CM with hammond with lallana in the team as well it would give us a mix of defensive shielding, dictating the tempo, and attacking threat (plus whoever on the right wing). I for one would like to see him used a couple of times in the league to see how he does.
