James Vaughan (again?)

Firstly, apologies for creating a new thread about JV as I understand there may well have already been a couple.

A good friend of mine is a Huddersfield fan and he invited me up to Yorkshire to watch the Hudds-Barnsley match on Saturday (turned out it was an absolutely cracking game to watch for a neutral such as myself!).
His family have some connections within the club, and I was able to attend the talk in the 'players lounge' after the game (whilst periodically checking the Norwich-Villa score).
One of the players to get up in front of the mic was (MoTM on the day) James Vaughan. Obviously, one of the subjects of discussion was whether he would sign for Hudds (the chairman and owner Dean Hoyle had already expressed how keen he was to sign Vaughan permanently).
JV expressed how easily he had settled in at Hudds and how happy he was to be playing for them. However, he reiterated that it was not his decision and we would have to wait and see what the two clubs would decide between them.

He was clearly either playing his cards close to his chest or genuinely didn't know whether he would be moving clubs. Something tells me at this stage that it's more likely to be the latter, and thus if we were to go down this season, I reckon McNally and Co would be inclined to keep hold of him, especially seeing as he still has time on his contract with us and how impressive he has been for Hudds this season.

If we go down I think we'll look to keep him - he can obviously score at Championship level and he and Becchio (who he ?) could be quite a lethal partnership. However, if we stay up I can see Vaughan leaving and possibly Becchio (who he ?) as well with Holt, RVW, A N Other and possibly Jackson as the four strikers we have on the books next season.
