I personally didn't rate him, although I've only seen him a few times!

From what I saw of him, he could be brilliant one moment and farcical the next.

We should have loaned him out as he's still young, but we don't get to see his character behind the scenes and that could possibly have been a problem.
    Not quite enough dedication perhaps.

Not sure how you can say that bearing in mind he was not with us long enough as was on loan! Also for dedication see one Shola Ameobi for the farcical situation of his dedication in training etc.

We had a decent back up RB (a million times better than Raylor) who may have gone on to shine for us. He showed at every single loan club his potential but was not given a chance with us. Shows how much the youth of the club are valued.

I find this a very odd post. Tav is a million times better than a fairly respectable Premier League journeyman who has put in a few very good performances for us ? This is based on reports on his performances at a number of conference, League 2 and League 1 clubs ?

He was loaned out, looked at and thought not to make the grade. if that is our opinion, wish him well and get rid - - you don't need players who aren't of the standard clogging up our books.

At their current standings yes he is a million times better. He may not go on to be a top 6 player but he is certainly of the same ilk as that of Danny Simpson (who by the way is also much better than Raylor) and would be great as our back up RB and for hardly much wage in comparison - if after a year he has shown himself up then fair play, yes get rid, but not after going through the leagues and at every club he has been to that he deserves a chance!

So why have we kept Haris Vuckic then if they were looked at? Vuckic has not shown anything to anyone (oh and he and Tavs both went to Rotherham and who was the better player?)

I am not looking for a fight but I'm not quite following your reasoning on the comparative abilities of Tav and Raylor. Raylor has shown himself to be competent at Prem standard but no one to set the world alight. Tave has shown himself to be promising at a much lower level. Why do you think Tav is better than Raylor, let alone much better ?

As for Vukic, I agree we should be getting rid. It may be that no one wants him while Wigan was willing to take (and I think even pay for) Tav.

I would quite like to have retained him. Pardew made noises he was willing to give him a chance after a successful loan spell. The problem is more likely that after a season on loan playing regularly he wanted to be starting games which we couldn't give him with Janmaat arriving. That was maybe a risk too far for us which is understandable. I do think if you send players on loan and they have a successful time, it is wise to use them (regardless what level their success was at). There is a long history of clubs doing this successfully. Loads of good examples, David Beckham being an obvious one. Sometimes though, as we found with Forster, eventually they want to play or be sold. We've made a judgement, it might come back to bite like Andy Cole did Arsenal, or it might turn out he doesn't quite cut it. I wish him all the best and accept the timing was wrong and there was little we could do outside of inserting him and not bothering with Janmaat. I think you'd be hard pushed to find many supporters who would have thought that was the way to go. If the club had done that, many would be saying "he is just doing it on the cheap" etc.

Quite simple difference on Tav and Vuckic. Tav was excellent while Vuckic just did ok. Rosler admitted Tav had been a target for some time after scouting Rotherham. He got Perch to persuade him. He obviously sees something. I don't Vuckic is attracting much which is maybe why he is still here.

If someone came in with an offer for Vuckic I think we'd get rid in a second, but I just don't think there'll be any takers. Shame.

I personally don't rate Tavernier highly at all. I remember watching him struggle badly against the fattest ****ing winger I have ever seen during the Hartlepool pre-season friendly a couple of years back.

Raylor is miles better, even on one leg!

The key word in my post was 'perhaps' as none of us know what he was like. <ok>
