I see from the Herald that we are being linked with and are having talks with the above who is a 19 year old striker released by Wolves. Hmmmm. Another cut price cast off who is untried. Is this really what we need or is it just because he was with a premiership club and is cheap. Are Argyle going to sign anyone to get the pulse racing just a little or is this as good as it gets.
Aptly named if he's joining you guys....(dont mean he'll be spraying passes around but more of a religeous instruction).....I'll get my hat and coat
Not all bad maybe....obviously not a fool when given a chance by a premiership club. Balotelli should be given a chance by us too....get a good oggie or two down him, who knows!
Did you see the torso when he took his shirt off bedoboy? Not an ounce of extra anywhere so I get the feeling the boy has never had a decent pasty. I bet Gat went all of a quiver. She is into tight shorts apparantly if worn by fit young blokes that is, I doubt a few of us could do much to hold her interest. What she does when shirts are removed is anyone's guess. The opperative word with Spray was "released" by Wolves. He may have shown something at the start but they haven't renewed the interest first shown. He has no league experience at all and it does come across as a cheap option and about all we will go for. Not something to inspire the sale of tickets is it. Not something to inspire the word ambition to be used either. He may turn out to be great who knows but if we are going to have a push for promotion, which Mr Brent said we were, then you would have expected a bit more from transfers than we have seen so far. It does smack of a season going nowhere and no wonder people are questioning the committment of Brent given his fine words.
Sensible I'm surprised at you. Firstly, this lad has been at a "big" club who gave him a professional contract but are now cost cutting due to their PL relegation. Presumably Fletcher has done his homework and won't be relying on this supposed pedigree alone but he's likely to be better than a League 2 cast-off isn't he? Certainly there are no guarantees but there may be a few "wee nuggets" being discarded. You've previously argued against the "big spenders" that there are cheap players out there to be had e.g. Noone and with the better atmosphere post Brent, maybe we ought to give Fletcher a chance. Secondly, it's all very well saying "Are Argyle going to sign anyone to get the pulse racing" but I thought you understood that there weren't going to be big sums to spend and indeed endorsed that policy given what we've endured recently. A striker with a reputation and a scoring record is what every club wants and they are priced accordingly. Let's see the lad play before we write him [and Fletcher] off.
Try a couple of mustard sandwiches notdistant. Doesn't kill them but makes them head hastily to the nearest water. I'm not advocating spending big sums. I'm also not writing off the lad before he is tried. If indeed he signs anyway as it is only talks at present. Homework on him will show his goal scoring isn't exactly up there. He may turn out fine if he comes. What I am talking about is a proven experienced player who might just get a few to invest in a season ticket who won't at the moment. The signings so far are the remnants of last seasons squad who were out of contract and a couple of kids totally unproven anywhere. That's what I mean about lack of a racing pulse. I'm not writing off Fletcher and I'm not writing off Argyle's next season. I don't do that as you know. We shall see but my head tells me we will end up somewhere in the middle going nowhere whereas my heart is always full of optimism.
Good, because sometimes I think it's only you and me that think that way! It would be nice to see a few signings, I thought there would be more activity through the summer. We've still got a month and a half to the Big Kick Off......
