What a pillock! "QPR boss Neil Warnock is close to securing a double deal for DJ Campbell and Jason Puncheon - despite continuing doubts over his own future. Warnock, 62, has been surprisingly inactive in the transfer market since guiding Rangers to the Championship title. Now he has finally got the clubâs hierarchy to open their cheque-book for striker Campbell and winger Puncheon. Campbell, 29, is due from Blackpool for £1.25million and winger Puncheon, 25, is set to join from Southampton in a cut-price deal. But Rangers' controversial Italian shareholder Flavio Briatore is known to want to bring in a new big-name manager and the club are also in takeover talks with Tony Fernandes." This is just cobbled together from a few bits of information doing the rounds in the last few days with the "Briatore wants to bring in an Italian manager" crap that has ongoing since he made his illjudged comments months and months ago. Can you really see Briatore bringing in a "big name Italian manager" now? Bring in a new manager ... then sell the club. Which manager would want to sign a contract knowing that he won't be able to bring his own players in? Which manager would want to sign a contract knowing that there will be new owners in a few weeks? The current squad (plus a couple of extras) has a chance at staying up with Warnock at the helm. Any other manager will have problems (playing their own formation with Warnock's players, Adel Taarabt, etc) and there would be a very good chance of relegation. You can be very dumb sometimes, Nursey. To quote Edmund Blackadder: "Nursey here is still a few sticks short of a bundle".
