If so it would be the final straw for me to be honest. The boy's acted like a bellend for six months now. Slating his international manager (had a point but you still dont do it), going to that prison, the poppy (supposedly), those comments about Northern/Republic of Ireland. Not to mention he's been playing poorly.

    Tit.

I believe he has but I can't see the problem. Its not something anyone is obliged to do. Given his background its hardly surprising. While the poppy represents all fallen soldiers, it is primarily seen as a British thing by many.

Its true lads. He was the only player to choose to snub the club gesture.

    If not...

    Fair enough.

    It was hypothetical.

    Well done mate.

I think if more players were true to their origins and roots then more would not wear a shirt with a poppy on.

Its ironic that the very thing that that so many lost their lives for - the right to choice and free speech, is not being afforded to James Mclean.

Bloke is a knob though, regardless of this.

If it was an isolated incident I wouldn't bat a lash at it. To be honest, I can kind of understand. Poppies are forced upon people. It shouldn't be policed as it is, people should do it of their own free will.

My problem is that he's gone out of his way and refused when the club would clearly ask him to wear one. It's like he's on a crusade against any authority. If true.

You can't really associate this with his other issues. The lad is clearly a cock but there was little hope of him agreeing to wear a poppy.

I think the club would not impose wearing a poppy on a player - a fact borne out by the fact that he played today and no mention of a fine.

Did observe the minutes silence or was he playing keepy uppy whilst whistling the "Fields of Athenry" and listening to the best of Lord Haw Haw on his Ipod?

He expressed his right of free speech which so many lost their lives for.

The in and out of it for me is that he keeps showing insolence. How many players need to have minders hired for them. He keeps ruffling feathers, if it was one problem repeatedly I'd not be fussed. Cattermole being an instance of this. He's a flawed character, I accept it. McClean seems to piss people off at every opportunity. However if it's not true, I take it back and apologise.

As I just said, it's the fact that it's a different stupid act showing idiocy at every turn that gets to me. Unless of course I'm mistaken.

Hes happy to take money with the Queens head on... What a disgrace.
It would have been far easier to go with the flow and join his teamates.

He's a dick and clearly has a problem with authority. But this is more to do with his heritage. He'd probably get a load of **** of his family and friends if he had. You have to respect his right not to wear one. He does need to buck up though if he wants a future with you. The stuff with Trap was disgraceful.

Fair enough but if I was paid what he is in a profession which pays respect to something I don't particularly agree with I'd swallow my pride and conform. As I said, as an isolated incident, fair enough, but it's not.
