    Absalute quality today.
Reading of the game, distribution, solid in the tackle when he s played at centre half this lad has the lot and he ll only improve with experience.
Today we saw our new Turner long may it continue

His reading of the game was actually brilliant, i forgot how good he was at centre half, i think Ayala is a class act but if Chester keeps performances like that up i doubt we really need him.

Agreed. Superb today, arguably the best player on the pitch

James Chester is class full stop. I fear that opponents will struggle to score many goals against City this season. Our back line looks SUPER STRONG.

NILS in the against column should be the norm this season on this performance. Interesting that NP has not ruled out more signings. Both perm & loans.

Getting Bullard Terminated (his contract i mean) will save 5 million quid and with Liverpool now confirming Ayala is for sale @ 1 million, Bullards departure
should haved even more significance for sure. Fingers crossed.

I don't think that has being confirmed, not seen it or heard it anywhere, apart from THE FRENCH TICKLER saying it above.

Don't get too ahead of yourself mate. Firstly, he'd got to play a blinder for as long as he's at City, in order to get a premier league club to take interest in him. Then he's got to get in their squad and play out of his skin for them, for a good few years. And then he's got to get Capello's, or whoever the England manager is, attention and knock out the likes of Terry and Upson of the lineup. Quite a tall order.

Showing my age maybe Golaccio but seen a few players come and go, he's not the biggest but Chester has something, posted the same thing on 606 when we signed him, not in midfield though thats all I can say though he could improve that area and prove me wrong

I'd like all our players to go on and do something with their careers, hopefully with City but this is a little too far away just yet. I'm pleased with the business we've done this summer.

Brady looks like a cracking addition.

Can tell he's based his style on Rio, Very calm and cool, the way he took that long punt out the air and passed it first time.

Makes a mockery all these negatives who harp on about Man utds rejects.

If there going to be the best players in our team such as Chester, Brady today il take them everytime.

For those calling him the new Turner, forget it, the lads better than turner! I can see him ending up in the EPL with performance like that. He should be our first choice Center half every week. Completely bossed the Liverpool attack today. Quality

Chester is absolute quality, and was unfortunately a victim of shoe horning Hobbs into the starting line up last season.

I now understand Nige's reasons for this as we were never really going to keep Gerrard, but when you think back to Chester's performances (for example at Forest away), there was no way performace wise that he should ever have been moved from centre back.

He was an absolute wall today. In the way of everything, totally spot on. Considering him and McShane both lack a bit of height, they were completely solid in the centre of the back four.

In terms of tackling he's probably the best defender I've seen at City. He times it to absolute perfection, not quite the aerial presence that Turner was but on the floor he's amazing. MOTM today.

I also thought Simpson was good today, he seems to be developing into more of a nippy little bugger who can beat men with his quick touches, but yet he's always the man waiting in the middle when the ball is played across and that's what I love about him. Many strikers would be on the edge of the area in that situation but Simpson is there to get them tap-ins.

I thought Simpson was class too. He looked so confident on the ball, shifting it away from attempted tackles so easily. His close control was brilliant.
