    While he wasn't massively successful at Accrington I'm quite happy with this. It shows we're trying to improve in all areas of the club and personally I can't see Curt and O'Leary being at the forefront of football coaching philosophy

    In all fairness he did what was asked of him at AS that is keep them in the league, Monk knows him since their Southampton days, another young coach desperate to prove himself, I say it works all round.

    The official website says Beattie "will work under the Swans boss and assistant-manager Pep Clotet and alongside fellow first-team coaches Kristian O'Leary and Alan Curtis. His prime responsibility will be coaching the club's first-team forwards.

    I was a great admirer of of Beattie as a player. A very good move by Monk imo.

    This is really good news along with gower we are getting a core of young coaches to project our way of playing excellent news well done the club as a whole.

    Seems like an ambitious and intelligent guy, should be a good signing this!

    HERE is a Guardian interview he did a while back, he comes across very well I feel.
