A free agent and now training with Bournemouth where he still has a house nearby. The 33 year old striker may be a bit long in the tooth but could he provide the technique, ability and experience we may be able to utilise at Championship level for Pompey? He may well be an ex scummer, but I am reminded that we also took the legendary Alan McLoughlin from them ,who proved a great success for many seasons at Fratton Park and of course we also took on Micky Channon in his twilight years. What are your views fellow fans, or is it a non starter?
There's no need to pretend any more, Medro. We've already paid him off. He's an old carthorse. Don't touch him with a bargepole.
All though a fantastic player for us he is unfortunately well past his sell by date........ But that means he would be not good for you guys.
He wouldn't join Portsmouth. He has always massively over-celebrated when scoring against them so it obviously means a lot to him.
Not just an allegiance to SFC; he has remained close to the city, keeping a house in Chilworth, continuing his charity work in Southampton - he'll never go to Pompey.................and he hates skates.
Didn't he have a disagreement with a Pompey fan in a Manchester curry house a couple of years ago and came off worse.
Trying to put into words how I felt about this . Then I read Colin's post That'll do for me .....oh and the Fodder's reply!
Kinda like Matt Taylor for us. Whenever we scored he would also go to wind you lot up. Good times. Don't know if there is any truth in this but at the carling cup match which (grumbled voice) you won, did Matt Taylor have proper a go a Redknapp for crossing the border? I wouldn't know cos I wasn't at that match. Just something I heard and it being one of the reasons he was sold. And obviously to pay for Arry's croatian fetish
So the story goes Hermanator. You can quite believe it too. Just a shame for Matt (and us) that 'arry tends to hold his grudges...
