    HCAFC fan in peace.

I'm doing a bit of research for our youth team and was wondering what you can tell me about James Armstrong? We brought him in from you in the Summer, think he's a CM? Is he any good? What were his prospects like at Sunderland? Would he have made the first team in the future or is he better off in a Championship youth set up?

Cheers in advance and good luck for the season!

P.S. If we could have Elmo off you at the end of the season that'd be swell, he's been unbelievable since the turn of the year. In fact he's probably our player of the season!

Hi Tommy, I try and follow our youth teams the best I can but only saw armstrong once or twice and can't say he stood out i'm afraid. Like you say he plays in cm and did the simple things well but thats not really good enough to get noticed at a premier league club. Not many of our youths get much of a look in under Mon even the most talented ones so can say with a fair amount of confidence he would't have ever made the first team here.

    Hope this helps.

So everybody keeps saying, but when I hear Sunderland fans talking about him, it's like they're describing a completely different player. His crossing is unbelievably good and he tracks back as well as he goes forward.
I wonder if it has anything to do with our owners and the two Egyptian lads we brought in that have pushed him on to be a better player? Also, he seems like a more natural WB than a RM or a RB; did you play a WB system when he was there or was it a flat back 4?

Thanks buddy, hope he turns out to be half decent for us. Our youth are have reached the last 8 of the FA Youth Cup, so I thought I'd do a piece about them as our clubs coverage is a bit ****. Hell, our training facilities consist of a park and jumpers for goal posts, it's really poor.

I would rather have Elmo playing at RB than Gardner or Bardsley, quicker than both and no worse defensively.
