Does anyone remember when The Sun did a feature on the difference between top and lower league footballers finances and to illustrate this compared our squad's cars to those of some big club? I seem to remember Mike Edwards or someone having a car that cost £400. Talk about how far we've come.
No it was Justin whittles motor and it was on tele just before we played villa in the cup. They were of course then top of the premier and we were bottom of the league around the same time I remember Paul Robinson being interviewed and when asked who he supported as a kid he said with a contemptuous voice Hull City , he and the rest of the panel all laughed, not ****ing laughing now are you you ****s.
I also remember when we signed JJ Okocha one of the squad (can't remember who) commenting in the paper that they were all coming to training in "normal" cars and then JJ would roll up in a swanky fanny magnet. Seems the days of clapped out motors at our training ground are long gone.... but then, that's because WE ARE ****ING MASSIVE.
