He hasn't been charged, so innocent until proven guilty and all that....

At least he was already out of the squad for this season so it's not like we are relying on him at the moment, if found guilty he should be sacked.

The bit about a 'fractured eye socket' only makes me wince, sounds like bloody torture!

apologies for the cheap dig, just thought it ironic that this has come out after the thread the other day talking about your players poor behaviour away from the football field. i once fractured my eye socket after being elbowed by some prick in a youth match and it was incredibly painful. horrible injury.

Well the club obviously wont be bothered as we have just signed someone on loan from Peterborough who was transfer listed by them for another drunken fracas, although (allegedly) not as serious.
JWM will say he doesnt care because its on the pitch activities only that matter and he doesnt go in for moralising
I will say it serves the club rights for signing someone for a reputation of being a tit but if it was down to me he would be heavily fined at the least (if found guilty)
Having said that if I had my way the squad would be down to about 3 players due to the amount of king idiots we have.
Oh how I wish for the days when the 'Ipswich way' meant something both on and off the pitch.

    <doh>

I always thought that the stereotypical scouser is a thief, maybe the police should be investigating an attempted robbery as well?

Well the only positive I can take from this is that it happened before Mick McCarthy joined, when discipline-wise it was a free-for-all.

I can't see Mick putting up with this kind of crap. If he's beaten up pub staff in our Town centre then just show him the door <ok>

I do agree with this as there is no place in society for people who carry out these acts, particularly those in the public eye..

But we spent £1.5 million (apparently) on this guy and that alone means we will not be getting rid of him anytime soon, rightly or wrongly (wrongly in my view) but the way football has been going in the past few years means that footballers are immune to modern day life and the accountability of your actions. I can't see us throwing away the investment we made in him.

Looking on the bright side if he is convicted quickly and gets a six-month stretch then at least he will be able to do his injury rehab at Her Majesty's expense which will help ITFC finances.

Interesting view. Its one I would have shared but considering we have just signed someone on loan who was involved in a similar, albeit not so serious incident, now Im not so sure.

And there was me thinking that one of the great things that sets our country apart from 3rd world banana republics is that a man is always innocent until proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is guilty!... Funny that!

JWM thought you didn't do moralising?? I have to say yes innocent until proving guilty but it sounds ominous!!

I'm pretty sure we won't sack the guy he is a very good player and we've just payed over £1.5 million for him. Hit him with a heavy fine. I'm happy for footballers to not be governed by clubs about going out etc and having a few drinks but it seems few footballers have very little common sense!!

Mr Wark have you even read the posts on this thread? Everyone without exception has said 'if' and the point you made was made in the second response. Not one person here has him convicted yet. I am starting to get a little concerned for your well being of late...

I don't see how "Innocent until found guilty" is a moral statement! I thought it was a statement of fact!

Indeed it is a fact but if you read your sentence in full taking it in context you are moralising!!

I was also going to say I thought you'd said your winnings was all going to charity!!
