According to Phil McNulty of the BBC,Everton have turned down a £10 million bid for Phil Jagielka from Arsenal
Be a decent signing. He's a very good defender. I would prefer someone with a little more height though.
Don't they want Bendtner? Bendtner might want to go to Germany, but surely at Everton he'd be the number one striker. And in a top half team. I think he'd like that. £14m + Bendtner = Good deal all round.
Would be a very good signing for you guys. Great reader of the game, good tackler and decent pace. Only problem he gets injured quite a lot.
kind of funny how wenger bid 12mil last summer but got rejected, now 10mil but price would be nearer 20mil i say get ****** with that price, inflated cus hes english.................no wonder the prem is full of foreign players
if he bid 12 mil, last Summer ,was'nt that before he became an england player,so surely he's worth more than12 now,so they are bound to turn down 10
If any fan remembers the Sheff Utd game a few years ago, he may make a decent understudy to Sczesny !
I'm a Blades fan and if you get him for anything less than £15 million its an unbelievable buy. Jags is one of the top 3 defenders in the League in my opinion. He will be the defensive solution you have spent years trying to rectify. Excellent reader of the game, good pace, ultra consistent and in Neil Warnock's words the 2nd best keeper he's had behind Paddy Kenny!! I know he was injured for a year but barring that he hadn't missed a game in about 5 years through injury, so I don't know where your getting injured quite a lot from Constcrepe!
great player, great defender, great keeper! only 5' 11" tho so a bit on the short side sadly. i can't see him coming in to partner Vermaelen at all. i was at Bramhall Lane when Arsenal lost 1-0. Paddy Kenny was injured taking a goal kick and Jags went in net for the last 20ish mins. He was all over it!! i wish a video existed somewhere of it. he didn't have a GK top so had to wear Kenny's - and he's not a small man!! made some fine saves. Utd. never used to have a sub keeper on the bench because they had Jags on the field.
I think £10m is to low, but £15m would be too high - I think a bid around £13m should swing it. Or £5m plus Bendtner
Wenger doesn't really want him so he's made a low bid on the off chance he could get him cheap, also he's 28 a bit old for Wenger.
Not sure how true it is but heard today that Arsenal have made a bid for Per Mertesacker from verder bremen. 26 years old, over 70 international caps and 6ft 5 tall he would be a far better bet than Jagielka.
Well, about 14 mil, just easier to round it up. Besides if Carrol is worth 30+ Bendtner is worth atleast half of that because of his lack of englishness
