He was brilliant first half of our promotion season when his combo with Wiggins was our main source of assists. He has been a semi-passenger ever since. He is like Gudmundsson in that everything he does is class, but there is usually just not enough of it to justify a place in the team. Put Cousins in his place and find a genuine LM. That won't happen with this management though.

Works hard defensively, but not influential when he has the ball, and doesn't pop up with important goals very often like he used to. Likewise his free-kicks. He still has an important part to play for us, but the day is coming soon when he will not be considered an automatic choice.

    From what you've been told?

Why not go and watch him and make your own mind up.

THere's no other candidate for the captaincy. Who else would have the bottle to bawl out Bikey and TBH as Jacko has done this season?

Jacko did ok on Saturday, the problem is that his 'ok' is not as good as it was 2 years ago.

Solly's time to be captain must be approaching. I think the added responsibility will take him up another level - and though his personality outside of football seems quiet, he knows where and when to give verbals. Something most modern captains don't seem to know.

He just has to be managed - like many players before him.

Jon another thing over the years i have noticed is many threads on sites as well as Facebook that follow this tone, time is up , get rid , no good etc etc

The next breath a ex player is out of favour or contract and you ask shall we take him back, why when you want to offload so many based on a what someone else says

I took the Sky option to watch this match yesterday. Saving my football pennies for another day.

The Sky commentary was quite generous to Jacko yesterday and I tended to agree with it. He put in a decent shift.

In my opinion he's a committed and dedicated player who, like all footballers, can have an off day... or even a trot of poor form..... occasionally. He's been a good, loyal servant to the club and we shouldn't be too quick to discard those kind of players. It's not blind loyalty, it's practical. I'd rather have a solid player who is committed to the team than a journeyman any day.

With the large number of transient loan players that we have coming and going on a seemingly endless conveyor belt these days, we have to have some stability and continuity in the team and players like Jackson give us that.

If we dump every player on the whim that "he's had his day", we might as just well put the squad names into a draw and the first eleven names out of the hat start the match.

    Jacko must stay.
