Chris Coleman , John Hartson and the what looked like to me a overweight Ashley "lead in my boots" Williams saved last night by a superb one man show from Gareth Bale.

In all seriousness though thought Wales deserved the win. Scotland were poor. Bale the difference. Fear what Croatia will do to that back 4 though.

Agree, Croatia are not a great side but they will punish us if we allow them to keep the ball and are not able to break up their play.

Aren't there four defenders in the side?

Williams to me looks as though hes carrying too much weight. Have Swansea players fitness levels dipped? He doesnt look the same player.

He has bulked up, I'll give you that. ML has worked hard on fitness, so not sure what's going on. Not having the best of seasons, but unfair to lay all blame on him.

Davies and Blake should have done better for the goal as well. I think Ricketts should come in for Davies.

Matthews may be fit. If so I would pick him. I just don't rate Ricketts at all.

The only bad thing about last night - I saw a 32 Red shirt in the stadium. I never thought I'd live to see the day. Really annoying.

The jack captain who was badly at fault for their goal.
Time to forget the club issues and remember they are all wearing the red shirt of Wales. Onwards and upwards. Hopefully.

Agree entirely my bluebird friend. Just having a bit of fun is all. Domestic clubs shouldn't come in to the frame when supporting our national team.

I think that the Williams and Blake combination is a progress in work but looks very promising to me.
Seeing as Ash is captain and when fit a first choice centre half it looks like its a straight choice between James Collins and Darcy Blake to partner him. The childish thing to say would be say "no way do I want a Cardiff player there". However given that choice I would pick Blake ahead of Collins every day of the week.
I don't care who they play for Wales comes before any petty rivalry.

By the way, Ramsey had a mare yesterday an Ledley isn't half the player he was at Cardiff. Not a pop just an observation

Ramsey has been poor every time I've seen him this season.

Very true about Ramsey and Ledley. Looking at Ledley he's not half the player, he's the player and a half he was at Cardiff. Must be a very different diet in Glasgow. <whistle>

Just one point, Darcy is now a Palace player and both he and Collins are ex-Cardiff. As an out and out defender I would take Darcy over Collins who is having a season of bollock drops for club and country.

for me the only good performances were from bale and allen. ramsey did OK, but not as good as he can be.

the rest of the team were mediocre. the central defence were shocking, absolutely shocking. i'm not knocking blake as he is a championship standard player up against far superior opponents - the same goes for gunter, davies, vaughan, price and all the subs.

the sooner we get hennessey, collins and bellamy back the better, all 3 were sorely missed and we simply dont have the depth to play at the same level without them.

longer term we need a striker to emerge too.....when was the last good striker we had? hartson? and he retired years ago.

Lots of valid points there Swamp but the one I would single out above all others is getting Bellamy back in the team.

Spot on, we need him every time it's physically possible. I think a fully fit Bellamy would have run riot against the Scots, he definitely adds about 6 extra strings to our bow.

Bfb, how the hell did you let Blake go and to Palace of all people ?

Blake was great cover but wouldn't sign a new contract and Palace offered £350k. Hudson is first name on the team sheet and Blake couldn't get in ahead of Turner, who now can't get in ahead of Connolley. Kev and Turner are the first choice full backs so he wasn't getting a look in. Shame he wouldn't sign, but he wanted to be playing.

Do we even have any up and coming youngsters in the striker department for Wales? May be a long while till we have an out and out goal scorer in the team sadly.
