Jackett keeping tabs on Puncheon 12:38pm Thursday 8th December 2011 in Sport Print Email KENNY Jackett has admitted Jason Puncheon remains on Millwallâs radar ahead of next monthâs transfer window. Puncheon enjoyed a prolific scoring spree this time last year at The Den when he was on loan from Southampton, signing off his stay in south east London with a hat-trick in the 3-0 New Yearâs Day derby over Crystal Palace. However, he went on to spend the remainder of the campaign with Premier League Blackpool before agreeing another loan switch to QPR on transfer deadline day in August. But that deal runs out on January 2 and Puncheonâs lack of first team involvement at Loftus Road has raised hopes Millwall may be able to persuade the Saints to borrow their player for a second spell. Jackett said: âWe havenât had any contact about Jason. âThere are quite a lot of situations we are watching. âAre we watching the situation with Jason Puncheon? âI would be lying to you if I said we werenât, but we havenât had any contact on that one. âWould the door be open? Yes. âHe is someone we have monitored since he left the club.â The Lions boss also downplayed reports in Ireland this week linking Millwall with a swoop for Cork City striker Graham Cummins. Jackett said: âI did see that in the papers. âWe made some enquiries last summer about him but since then we havenât. âCork werenât that keen to let him go at the time when we made enquiries before the start of the season about perhaps getting him over here on trial. âI would say that is probably the end of it.â Jackett also denied there had been any interest from other clubs for Liam Trotter. âThere have been no enquiries or bids for Liam at all,â the boss added. âHe is under contract anyway and is not a player who we are looking to sell.â Follow us on Twitter @NewsShopperSprt
