I feared that Rooney's long range hoof might have stolen the award from Wilshere, but thankfully the public saw sense. Wilshere's goal was the best, and only that goal by Kasami came close to matching it. Anyway, this thread is just an excuse to post a gif of said goal. please log in to view this image
I love this goal and it deservedly won goal of the season award. Also it shows that Giroud for all the mocking he gets for 'linking up well' and 'bringing other players into play' is a ****ing boss in this build up play. His two touches are immense and underpin the brilliance of this goal.
Do you really believe this ****? Giroud is ****e and as soon as we get a decent striker people will remember what its like. What was it, 16 leage goals this season. Compare that to Judas 30 in his last seaon with us and if I remember correctly the assists for Giroud and Judas have about the same ratio but I cant be bothered to check.
So a guy that gets 16 league goals, and 22 goals in all competitions is now a **** player? I think you need to open your eyes and watch other forwards around the world, to see what a really **** forward is like. Also, why compare it to RVP's best season? I can easily say that RVP tally is '****' when compared to what Messi and Ronaldo have achieved.
Wait so Giroud is **** for getting 8 goals less (could be even less if he scores on Saturday) than RvP did in his best ever season while Giroud got more assists? The logic is strong with this one
Im just fed up with all of the times hes under performed. Hes about the right level for a mid table team, not a team that wants to challenge for the title.
As I pointed out elsewhere, Giroud's goal contribution this year was better than Drogba managed in six of his eight seasons at Chelsea.
Giroud has 22 goals and 9 assists this season. That's 31 goals he's directly contributed to. Really a mid table striker
With the obligatory 'Allaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaah' of the Arabic commentator and the crowd sounding their appreciation after seeing the replay:
Arabic commentary is the best and to think that we have to put up with the likes of Mark Lawrenson and David Pleat
