http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17878767 Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says midfielder Jack Wilshere may not be fit for the start of the 2012-13 season. Wenger said: "I do not want to set the Olympics as a target because I do not know whether Jack will be fit to start at the beginning of the season." Wenger is now concerned that Wilshere could miss the start of the Gunners' pre-season training. The Frenchman added: "When we start pre-season training on 9 July, if he can join in, then we have won the battle, but that is not guaranteed. He might not be ready for the 9 July pre-season now? What on earth is going on in the physio room? He was originally suppose to be back in March, then he got a stress fracture in Feb so it was revised to late April. Now he might not make it at all in the beginning of the season? Not exactly positive stuff from Wenger is it?
The worst in all of top flight football. Here's a scene from our medical centre: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHJsGNs3wdY
haha the moment i saw that comment i knew it was you PIKSKIE and i agree though dont you think he's well out of our price range now that hes signed a new contract... please prove me wrong!
Gotze's market evaluation is around £26.5m which is out of our price range http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/mario-goetze/mwverlaufgraph/spieler_74842.html. Unless of course we break our transfer spending. There are other players on the market that i'm sure our scouts are looking out for....
do you have any in mind? I had eriksen in mind but he seems to be wanting to stay put so now i'm at a loss though adam maher would be my choice.
I still think that M'Villa will be a good buy, but we'll still need some more creativity. Adam Maher looks good and is cheap, but we have OXO who should be able to do the same thing. We need someone more established....
m'vila is a defensive mid completely different type of player to our am's he's more of a song complement/replacement. I'm struggling to think of an established player who would fit into our side.
Who knows? We haven't in the past, but I think this season showed us that we can't scrimp and still expect to match the top teams on quality. I've said all season that we've not been that far off (even when some were predicting a mid table finish) and as demonstrated now were in 3rd, but for one or two extra quality players, we could be challenging for the title now. Our game is based on attacking midfield play, linking up with the fullbacks and playing our way into goal scoring positions. I think a top quality attacking midfielder would give us added value in all areas of the pitch as he would be able to bring out the best of the attack in the other positions too. It won't be easy to get Goetze, but the board have consistently said that they would sanction a £30m bid for a player if Wenger wanted to buy him - I think Dortmund confirmed a big bid from Arsenal last summer for Goetze, which (1) is good because it means we're after him and prepared to put in a big bid, but (2) they turned it down, so would naturally expect a bigger bid to even consider selling him.
that was true last year but now he's signed a new contract i wouldn't expect anything less than £35mil for him
I think it depends on how much Goetze wants to come to Arsenal. He's clearly aware of our interest, Champions League football is a must and if we can match Dortmund's valuation then I think we've got a chance to sign him. The contract extention will push his price up. Personally, I think a fee of around £28m would secure him. It would smash our transfer record, but I think we're going to have to, if we want the best players to come to us.
