http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1...arsenal-the-premier-league-title-race?cc=5739 You'd obviously not expect Wilshere to say we aren't, but I've said this before, and will say it again, it's become so tiresome listening to our players talk the talk, if there's one thing they are reliable and consistent at, it's big talk. They always talk so much playing our hopes up, but then when it counts, they fail, only to come and talk after. At the end of the day you can't expect them to come out and say it's over, but on the other hand, these players need to stop hyping-talking themselves up at the same time, if they want to hype themselves, then do the talking on the pitch rather than off the pitch on how good you are and all the strong character you have bla bla bla. They get this from Wenger too, they start believing their own ****ing hype and start talking themselves into believing it, it's time to start delivering, and time to stop talking, we've heard enough talk from this team for the past 9 years of this and that and this and that only to come up with nothing but a 4th placed trophy.
I'd thought we'd cut it out in a bit in the last 6 weeks or so as there tended to be an article every 2/3 days from one of our players and, as you say, it's very tiresome. By all means crow if you've won stuff but until such times as you've backed it up you just look plain daft. Obviously I don't want Jack to say "we won't win" but he doesn't have to say anything. He can smile sweetly and walk away. Same thing I'd like the manager to do at times.
To be fair to him he hasn't said something like: "Of course Arsenal will win the League, we are the best team etc" He said :"The good thing is that this month we play all the teams at the top," That's true and those games will define your challenge. The opinion shared by lots of people including myself is that those games will see your challenge slip away but we can't really expect Wilshire to say that. He also said "If we win those games, we can be up there. We've got to keep going to the end." First bit is true, second bit should be a given. "Anything can happen in this league as you've seen this weekend and in previous weeks." Also true. Give the lad a break!!!
Were it an isolated incident then I'd totally agree with you. We just seem to have stories like this constantly coming out of the club and it (to me at least) gets tiresome.
The midget should keep his mouth shut and do his talking on the pitch! You rarely hear Liverpool players giving it the big 'un, our players should really keep their mouth shut and do their talking on the field of play, you play dire on Saturday and come out spouting garbage. The sad thing is there are some mugs who will hold on to every word he said!
