Is exactly what we need, he would fit right into fergusons plans of a young energetic talented and mostly english club. Fergies long been an admirer of the lad and with the recent evertonian chairmans comments that the club needs to sell before it buys, i reckon fergy might just wet his beak and go in for the lad. Who agrees?

    --------------De Gea--------------
    -Rafael---Smalling--Johnes---Fabio-
    -Nani----Rodwell--Cleverly--Young-
    ---------Welbeck--Rooney--------

The spine of that team is completely english, the chemistry would be really good for United and England.

Rodwell isn't good enough for United, all the Everton fans I've talked to don't think he's good enough for Everton.

He's only 20 and has shown great promise in his time at everton, hes got alot of potential. I haven't heard an evertonian speak a word bad about the lad apart from the fact he picks up injuries abit but im sure the united medical team would sort that rite out.

Rodwell's development reminds me a lot of Jonny Evans. A couple of years ago he was way ahead of the curve and performing at a decent level for a young player. But over the last two years he seems to have plateaued, and even gone backwards a wee bit. Maybe a move to Utd would reignite his career, or maybe the extra pressure would cause him to go into a steep decline. Hard to tell which, but SAF seems to be leaning towards the latter, and seems to have chosen Jones as the better prospect in the DM / CB role.

I agree about Rodwell's development, I actually think he needed to move last year, some people just don't seem to be able to progress past a certain level under certain coaching staff and/or methods.

I just think he is another overrated England player. No better than Henderson.

Ah but is he any better that the players we already have and would he greatly improve our team? Probably not. But a move from Everton may help him improve. Maybe to someone like Spurs or a team likely to be challanging for the top six.
Was he a regular starter last season?

I think he is a decent but somewhat overrated player. Never looked like he has potential to be anything special to me. He'll do a job at a club like Everton but I don't think he'd add anything to our team that we don't have already. Let's stick with the young midfielders we already have

Rodwell is more liverpool quality than UTD quality.

No point in buying for the sake of buying.
