A deal to bring Peterborough United’s 18-year-old striker Jaanai Gordon-Hutton to West Ham United is likely to be rekindled in January.

The youngster was left heartbroken when a deal fell through after what most saw as a superb trial period at the club earlier in the year.

The youngster scored at under 18, development squad and first team friendly level and is a striker very much in the Sam Allardyce mould.

However, after Peterborough and the Irons believed they had a deal in the bag, it was scrapped and a revised offer was made which the League One club rejected.

However, SportsDirect News has learned exclusively that further talks are planned after fresh contact was made and that a deal is expected to be sorted out in January.

The deal was originally put together at around £5 million which included many add ons but West Ham are understood to be planning to make a bigger upfront payment with the package reduced to around £3.5m.

A source revealed exclusively: "He's a great prospect and the Hammers would be doing good business."
