Ja606

I have just had a look on this website and there was only 1 post on the Newcastle board...so I decided to give it a read. Maybe I shouldn't have, it was an article complaining about Pardew trying to win the cup next season and the poster called him an idiot. A tad ironic really!

Anyways to post a reply I had to sign up, so I quickly signed up, posted a comment and had a little look around. It's a carbon copy of the original 606. If you took a print screen of both websites you wouldn't notice the difference. No imagination, plain as day and most likely have strict mods again.

I thought I'd share this with you all so you don't have to venture over there yourselves

 

I noticed too mate. Apart from the fact that it's slow as hell, it's just like a graveyard version of the beeb606.

I don't see what's wrong with having it identical to 606? That's the whole point of it - 606 has a great layout.

Wasn't OT going to make one with the same layout as 606 when it announced it's closure (before we all moved here)

I think most people have moved over here and took advantage of the improvements, 606 was good in it's simplicity but it got a bit dull when there wasn't any football on. At least on here, anything of general interest can be shared.

 

The problem with it being identical is that it hasn't moved on. It has the same features which the beeb couldn't be arsed to change. I was all for it at first...until we came across here, now i've noticed what I was missing all that time. Were you on the very old original 606? If JA606 turns out to be like that it would be awesome (like this one has) but it won't, it'll stay the same as they won't know how to improve it.

This is what I think anyways. Plus its pretty darn slow, it does seem to have a few members on other boards which NOT606 hasn't. So looks like a split camp in terms of teams.

That's true, but what a lot of people wanted was 606 layout without strict mods. It all depends on what the mods are like really. I'm happy here anyway.

And yeah I was. The greatest layout ever - good times :'(

 

While the simplicity of the 606 website made it compact and quick to load (WTF is your excuse ja606), the limited functionality was a bit of a drag on its usefulness.

The short time i have been over here has been a ball, some of the craic has been fantastic. Its great to have the expanded functionality which isnt spoiled by over zealous mods ruling what you can post with an iron fist.

Nothing is perfect but not606 is the best iv been able to find so far

EDIT: il not be signing up to ja606 to past anything negative as they will still be stupid enough to look at it as another user and evidence of an expanding constructive user base

The mods on 606 didn't always understand what you were saying or what point you were trying to put across and deleted stuff that didn't deserve to be deleted just because they didn't understand it.

The mods on not606 are great and don't make rash judgements. I've had nothing deleted so far.

 

I only ever read 606 rather than discussing mainly because 606 didnt feel very neatly or sensibly laid out in terms of usability. Standard forum layout works well for a reason. Well that, and the one time I commented it took about 3 hours for my comment that said something like 'Yeah Good Match' about 3 hours to get approved. Much prefer this site.
