Normally, when we lose at the weekend, I awake on a Monday morning feeling well and truly pissed off. This morning though, is completely different.

Although we lossed on Saturday, our performance has left me with a huge sense of pride in the team. Man City are a terrific side and facing them at their own ground is obviously one of the toughest games of the season. But our lads limited one of the most creative sides in the league to very few goalscoring opportunities and created 2 or 3 good chances for ourselves.

My biggest fear was that Man City would put 5 or 6 past us and give us a good battering, but we did not buckle under the pressure and Pardew showed us that he is taking us in the right direction. Admittedly Raylor had a bit of a mare, but he has played consistently well so far this season and everyone will have a bad game once in while.

The media, football pundits and other fans have been bleating on about us "not having faced anyone yet" and ridiculously talked about this game being our first real test. Many expected and hoped that we would fall apart and that the wheels would come off, but, if anything, I think that this game has given us more confidence. Many teams have been embarrassed by Man City this year, including Man Utd who are an excellent team, yet we showed that we have a resolute, organised, and well coached team with a fantastic spirit and enough creativity to cause the best teams problems. (albeit on the break)
I am not saying that we are a top 4 side or anything ridiculous like that, but we are certainly no pushovers and I can't see too many teams relishing playing against us this season.

    Well done Pards.

I didn't watch any punditry from the game on Saturday. Were we given much credit?

Me too. Take away 2 very soft penalties and what are you left with:

    1. Ba and HBA should have scored
    2. We defended ok, with Saylor being off the pitch for the second goal
    3. We passed it around beautifully
    4. Sammy and Jonas need to play one touch footie instead of running into crowds of defenders.
    5. 3rd still.

wouldn't say i was upbeat but not as gutted as i normally am when we lose more positives than negatives and think we'll do well against the teams we will be challenging for that top ten spot and who knows dare we think about it....... nah best not

I was listening to the game on the radio and whilst a bit upset at conceding two penalties, we sounded quite resilient in defence and also managed to get forward and cause Man City problems and could have scored a couple.

Better teams will go to Man City this season and lose but we can take heart that our performance was very good overall.

As an aside, the Double Chocolate Muffins were amazing.

We created more chances than city, if Ben Arfa and Guthrie had scored those chances it would have been a different story. Were a quality team.
