The trouble is, nobody expects anything to happen. There's a Chilcott thread after the report came out on this board. A few days of indignation but then it died a death. It mirrors our society when it comes to the Iraq War.

I'll donate but I really think the group need a good spokesman. On the day of the report there was nobody from the servicemen and women who was speaking powerfully to create any momentum in public opinion. You have to keep this in the public eye and make the thing happen, make it snowball. Otherwise it'll be brushed away. You need a front man or woman on the TV 24/7 and making the establishment uncomfortable and continuously keeping them on the back foot. I think they need to take a leaf out of the Hillsborough campaign tbh.

It was a really clever timing to bring the report out - politically speaking. They brought the report out, then two days later Cameron steps down, a few days after that Gove stabs Boris in the back and Leadstrom drops out, then Boris drops out of the running. With Labour, Angela Eagle launches her leadership bid at around the same time, the Chicken Coup is centre stage and within 3-4 days the Chilcott report had dropped off the home page of most of the main media sites. Misdirection and distraction at its best!

But it's ok because we've got Wales doing well in the football, 1Direction and Boris' gaffes to concentrate on instead!
