Quality line from Adrian Chiles.....

"Do you think Barcelona will be starstruck (playing against Beckham)?"

Messi, Xavi & Iniesta starstruck? Of course. <doh>

The Barca rejects did ok ... but Zlatan Ibrahimović never could quite get to grips with the offside rule <whistle>

Can't really complain about the result though ... unfortunately. <grr>

I didn't get to watch all the game, but from what I did see Beckham did ok. He certainly wasn't the playmaker and it wasn't as if everything PSG did went through him, although that is the way that Chiles etc were making it sound before the game.

He put in a reasonable shift but if Talk Sport are saying he should get a recall to the England national team, I think thats more of a comment on the state of English footie rather than Beckham's prowess.

The French and Spanish media slaughtered him ,yet the English media thought he was outstanding . Suddenly tonight's Europa league is now more important than the champions league according to them

What about the Scottish officials in the Dortmund game tonight , mistake after mistake after mistake , players getting booked for getting punched and an offside goal in 93 mins sending Dortmund through

The need to make the job of a referee a full time job...

    Full time training

    Full time learning

And make them accountable for errors - let them explain decisions.

2 of the goals were offside, Harry.

Craig Thompson was poor but to be fair, his officials let him down. The two offside goals (one for either side) evened out in the end though - I think that, on balance, Borussia Dortmund deserved to go through.

The winning goal 4 players were offside when the ball was first played into the box , then you had the guy standing offside on the line putting it in . Great spectacle though

Agree - it was an exciting game ... maybe they should do away with 'off-side' altogether?
