Watching the Ghana game on ITV 4 and I'm sure I just heard them say that Albert is going to Palace. Now let me just say that I turned the game on and heard that the player(didn't hear the name) would be leaving a struggling Championship team (sounds like us) to join a team at the top of the division. Did not hear Bristol City, Palace or Albert in definite terms but the commentators said they may be able to confirm the deal later today or tomorrow. The only name mentioned was that the player would be a replacement for Zaha. Make of it what you may but it seems strange that it comes at the same time as the statement regarding the board and Albert.
The quoted offer from Palarse was £500,000 not the £1 first thought I think the board should tell Palarse where to stick their bid.
Mike that statement about the board decide on selling the player ect, did not happen today it's the BBC reporting on what SoD said on Saturday. He also said every player has his price, does not mean that every player is leaving us.
I said I would take 2 million for Albert a week ago to bring in 2 exceptional 1 million pound CB's. I was think plugging the wholes in a leaky defense that still looks all over the place is more important than Albert who could go for peanuts in the summer. However a week on, I wouldn't bother selling as theres no way we can get two very impressive names in before thursday afternoon. I would rather tie Albert down to a 25k a week deal (just over 1 million a year) and watch his stock rise! 500K is farcical, and he will be worth more than that in the summer even if we get relegated and only has 1 year on his contract remaining.

had an emergency call to birmingham last night so heard Alberts interveiw about his time in the Africa's cup 10 mins before kick off ..he is really enjoying it..congratulated the team on the win v Ipswich wished them well against Watford but most importantly..said he hopes when he gets back SOD will have been watching the Africa cup and he can slot into the team...as I said in another post we are squad building not getting rid of assets
