Sorry I can't offer you any ITK Defoe news but I've had a look at the Telegraph stats tables again.

Look at Faurlin in the tackles won category....considering he spent half the season out injured that shows me how pivotal and important he is.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/8784398/Premier-League-statistics.html

Also have a look at Barton's tackles won stats

That's it, nothing else to add.

    Impressive stat indeed from Ale.
Interesting that we have 3 in the top-20 for key passes as well - Joey, Adel and Bobby (albeit probably mostly for FFC).

Those stats imply that Paddy didn't have a crap season, as most have posted on here! or am I reading it wrong?

I just looked at a league table and found we had 4 players in the top ten .... then realised it was for "Red cards".<doh>

The goalkeeper stats are a bit rubbish as they don't say the total shots. It's no surprise that the worst teams keepers have made the most saves.
Maybe 83.7% of statistics really are made up on the spot.....

...but very much mid-table for yellow cards and fouls conceded. We also were awarded the most free-kicks. shows that most of the reds were unjust - honest!

By my calculations it should be 83.9%

So Spurs, Man Utd and Newcastle are one of the worst teams in the Premier? <doh>

Fair point. The primary point though is that without the total shots on target faced, the number of saves is a misleading statistic.
As for whether Paddy was crap or not, that's a different discussion. Personally I thought he did ok apart from a few long-range efforts he should have kept out (and Zabeletta's at the weekend) but will most likely be replaced in the Summer.

As the old saying goes Paddy must have vampire blood as he certainly has a fear of crosses...

LOL. We can't replace him with Bogdan then - he's so ginger that he must be afraid of sunlight (unless he's a daywalker).

To be fair, it's not lots of different posters saying this, just Flyer posting it about 6 billion times.

I do think we need a new keeper though.

Agreed. My biggest worry is that we'll go in for The Brazilian Eedjit from Spurs though.

My missus calls him Comedy Gomez and she quite likes Spurs - says it all really.

That and the fact that Arry bought a pensioner to play instead of him

Some interesting figures for Bobby Zamora. Proves exactly what has been said about him, that he contributes an awful lot up front with holding and distributing the ball. Especially considering that he has had to play alone up front very often, within a team that often doesn't have enough possession in the opposition third.
