Something's got to give, surely? With Newcastle only a couple of days away. Do you think we'll be making any signings before the weekend? And if, when? Today (thursday!), friday, next week? And who will that first anticipated signing be? Discuss.
I believe that we make one-two signings before sunday and one of them will be loan deal with experienced midfielder. Alex will be our first signing late this evening and the loan deal with that experienced midfielder will be annouced tommorrow. We are in difficult situation but sparky wont still make any panic shopping. Next week there will be one -two other signings to come.
Like the way you're thinking Igor! Hope you are right, strengthening those two positions will give as a much better chance of picking up something at tyneside.
My prediction then: First signing: Wayne Bridge (have said it before so have to stand by that). On loan with a view to a permanent signing in the summer. When: Tomorrow friday (gutted it's not thursday ) We'll also sign Stephen Ireland on loan, next one through the door, but might not get the deal done before Newcastle unfortunately.
It been reported on SSN, one of the newspapers mention Chelsea are losing patience with Cahill. I hope it true, maybe spurs will go after him instead of Samba
He played 7 internationals last year and scored 4 goals. Watched an interview with Steve Staunton and he couldn't have been more positive about the lad, even with the baggage.
We will get ALex today i reckon , its thursday after all. I would have to say when Ireland was playing for City under Hughes he was one of the best in the league for a period of time. Has dramatically fallen away. 6 month loan could work though.
Itsssssssssssssss Thursday! Come on CB what stunning news will be announced today? I've booked a nice window table at Nonna's and a few bottles of red to celebrate Defoe joining the 'project'.
personally, ithink that Howiett and Samba will arive, with the Venky's demanding Dave, Hulse & Vine in part exchange (cause we all know how helpful they've been to Steve Keen so far). Ireland will possible arrive on loan, however, that is dependent on the quality of dodgy substances he was photograghed smoking, and whether he can safely park his blinged up 4 by 4. Bridge will arrive on loan on £9k a week (after a zero is mysteriously tip exx out of his contract (by a man wearing a dodgy hat as per Khan's boxing title fight) and in it's place ios written confirmation that the Saturdays will be performing at Loftus Rd during half.
Stephen Ireland is a wonderfully gifted footballer but he is as mad as a brush. He has wasted the talent that the Lord above gave him. On his day he can outplay any midfielder in the country. Problem is that he seems to have very few good days now. He recently got his place back in the Villa team so i can't see them letting him come to us. A real box to box midfielder on his day, would form an interesting partnership with our Joey. Fireworks!!!!
The fact that we have made a bid for Alex is already in the public domain, so I can easily see that happening. I think that the Onuoha looks likely too.
