    So we won finally....

Actually we are technically <laugh> on an unbeaten run now so if you are of the postive peruasion you can take that from the blackburn game.

We should be very happy with some of what we saw and also grateful balckburn are a terrible side who just try thier best. I eman, Jordan Hednerson finally delivered a game that I've been waiting to see from him. I cannot beleive the MOTM was anyone but the guy who took over the entire right wing and played a 2 on 1 for all that time. Spearing was so unselfish and he finally gave us a midfielder willing to sit in and allow a full back to just go forward.

Bellamy was terrible mostly, carroll ruined most of his own good work but simply not bursting his gut to get to the danger zone having given us a platform to play from. flanagan was all over the place, but there were a few small things that just add up to not quite making this a display that shows us as having some recovery.

    why?

    1. kenny's interview. this was not a guy o nthe end of his rag, no it was just a guy being snippy with the press over the stick he's getting. All he needed to say was doni did deserve the red card and just leave it but again he made himself look a bit weak.

    2. the cautious nature of the side. 4 defenders on the bench with sterling just sitting there having gone for the "experience" why do this? why even pic aurelio at all if not for some future scenario where 3/4 players are injured all at once and aurelio is all thats left?

    3. we held the ball, all worked and actually passed it but we must see how poor blackburn were v 10 men. most of the time we could pass it about even though we actually passed it backwards a lot.

All of this said i am not just confident I am 100% sure dalglish will deliver anothe rcup final. its not cos everton are not a good side, they are. IT is simply because of the evidence we have seen of players like gerrard baothering their barney on the big day. I know kenny knows how to win this game and it will take a monumental F up from jones for us to lose this.

Henderson was surprisingly good at right back, especially seeing as they had 1 more man than us.

Flanagan was poor but it's a learning curve for him and I'm sure he'll learn from the experience and grow as a player. It just makes a nice change talking about a win, we deserved 3 points against Blackburn but it wasn't to be but hopefully we can carry on the momentum on Saturday

Oh and good thread MITO <ok>

    Ta magic.

henderson (technically) was not great at RB as he was far to square on to his man but he never got caught playing guys onside and his work rate up and down the line was super.

I've been waiting for him to give a game to us that would show what he's got and this could have been the game. NOt creatively but his work rate was super, character and team play was spot on and he deserved the three points more than anyone else.

Another small thing, but very enjoyable! For one of the first times this season, I can watch a match of the day showing us win, and Man Utd lose.......Will be a pleasure this evening rather than chore

I thought Henderson was very good against Aston Villa - his passing was top notch. It really showed his technical ability.

Whilst against Blackburn, he showed his work rate and attitude.

You didn't see the Arsenal game then? The one everybody said was an astounding performance despite the loss, one in which everybody shone and one player shone above all to get MotM: Jordan Henderson. Or did you just forget about that in your fickle, short-term way?

Muppetfinder, do you only come back here nowadays to slate fans? It's a forum, MITO is entitled to his opinion on the team

muppet... henderson has to deliver a lot more than he did v arsneal.. he was ok that day but here i think you'll find he was the guy that stood up and was counted. I've been as i said waiting for him to tie all the things in his game together in one display and i felt he did that v blackburn.

the engine, the passing, the abilty to get by someone and even dleiver a cross. the unruffled approach comapred to others.. All in all i thought the boy done well.
