    Morning one, morning all,

Today we have racing from Wolverhampton and Lingfield, plus a plethora of football and perhaps some racing from Ireland.

    My selections for today -

    2.00 - Captainrisk EW

Ran a good race last time out, with Probert dropping his whip with a furlong to go. He stayed on well, suggesting that he is hitting form now and I think he is likely to run a big race here. The handicapper has also taken an extra pound off his back today, which has to help his chances.

    2.30 - Picansort EW

This horse is on a very good mark and hasn't really had much luck in his recent races. He showed enough last time in defeat to suggest that he is still running well enough and I think we can see a good improvement from him here. I think this race is poorer than the earlier sprint handicaps in this series.

I have also done a wee permed Scoop 6 today, hopefully I can cheer Brunston on in the last to win the thing <laugh>

Interesting, I am frustrated that I got up too late to get the really good prices about my selections!

Oddy, should we follow the yanks' lead with their marketing of racing?

We got down to a quite impressive -19°C in the small hours of the morning but it's shot up to -10°C now so it's time to put on coat, hat and gloves and trudge off to the shops

    Morning, all.

For those who may have missed the race yesterday, can I suggest a horse for your notebooks ? Mick Channon's GOOD OF LUCK won the 10f maiden at Lingfield (4.05) very nicely indeed. The opposition probably wasn't very great: the Johnston filly (third) was favourite and just looks like a slow horse, and the second, Gabrial's Hero, didn't
appear to have many gears. (Topic for debate: if Doctor Marwan is so rich and such 'a knowledgeable owner' how come he buys so many incurably fourth-rate horses ?).

Still, whatever the ability of the others, Good of Luck might be the best AW maiden I've seen this winter, and I'm sure he'll pay to follow.

Pakistan 115 ahead in their second innings...expect a declaration soon..<laugh>

Anyhow, off for a study of the old formbook..not expecting to unearth any diamonds mind you,the A/W doesn't really interest me.

    GL all.

Farcical first race in Ireland. 18 runners. Only 4 ever in it. The Bosses Cousin blitzed them.

I'm on that one in a trixie with Willie's two in the next couple Maggie Connolly and Rockyaboyo.

    Good luck lads.
