Johnson and the new owners have a big job to turn this around especially with the wage cup. Grigg and Graham are horrific and we have no spark at present. It's going to take something to shift some of this ****e and bring on some better quality
Graham is a ****ing disgrace and should be paid off immediately. His feet never left the ground and he has a canny knack of making it look like he is trying but actually doesn’t achieve anything
It's not the quality imo, it's the attitude. Di Canio may have been crackers but he was right about the inherent lethargy at our club. @Flamin hot is right, it's shocking.
Think we need another, Arnott, Elliott, Rowell type injection of blind faith and confidence The old guard ain't working in with the new
It's horrific mate the likes of Danny Graham and Grigg plodding around half arsed is disgusting. I think Johnson will have sussed a, lot of our players out already. I also think the likes of leadbitter days are numbered as they are too slow even in this league
I like Leadbitter but his backward passes outnumber the forward ones and encourages the other players to keep dropping deeper. He checks too often and ignores players running past him. Johnson is smart enough to see what's needed and I can see big changes. Sanderson needs to start every game imo.
Hopefully play the kids against Oldham and see what a bit of energy can do. If he picks Graham and the like again, then he will be on a hiding to nothing
I don't think it helps with that midfield in fairness. They're so slow and lethargic it's unreal. They constantly pass sideways and backwards, no impetus to run at teams or attack in numbers, this lot couldn't spell counter attack let alone do it. If I was a striker watching that midfield I'd be taking my flask out with me every game (and at this point in time it would most definitely be Irish tea with 99% Irish). We need to get Power and Leadbitter out of the team asap. Leadbitter sits too deep all the time and Power is, well, Power! I hope Johnson gives O'Nien a chance in the middle when he's back with someone else but he's gonna have a job on his hands getting rid of this mentality the players currently have.
It seems that our continuing club/team/player ethos of bowing down to , feeling sorry for and accommodating rubbish teams in their need to end long non winning runs, is far stronger than any new manager impact, even if just for one game, that other clubs seem to get.
If Lee Johnson can stick to his word and teach the team to BREAK THE ****ING LINES then we might have a chance....25 passes across midfield and defence then a hopeful 60 yard punt need coaching out of them
I don’t believe we can go any lower, defeats at home to Mansfield ko’d, Burton, mk dons and now Wigan surely the only way is up
graham might actually jump and head the ball at Oldham never mind score, if only we had kept Watmore and when Benji gets fit. Wigan will never win another game like this season 1 shot 1 goal laughable.
Its all fine and well having biggish names but its 35 year old blokes. No wonder its pedestrian. I was chuffed when in interview after he said the words January, pace, power. THANK THE LORD someone's seen the light.
Ive said it time and again and I did after we signed him the first time around, he doesn't care, is picking up a wage and has no interest in scoring goals or doing well due to his black and white allegiances. That's exactly what he told his mates when he signed the first time around and I have seen zero items of evidence to suggest what I was told is wrong in fact the more he plays the more you can see he isn't trying. The clearance off the line in the fa cup game is enough to show he is actively working against Sunderland AFC.
