Like a morgue! Looked like a good point yesterday was fair result, but shame not all 3. Any reports from those lucky to be there? Win the next 2 home games and could be in play-offs!
Afternoon All! If it wasn't for some incompetent decisions from the officials we would have got all 3 points yesterday. As PJ said afterwards the referee was way out of his depth and his decision making at times was just plain shocking for both teams. How can he realy give a pen for deliberate handball when Edwards was a yard away from the ball when it was struck at him? Anyhoo another good point and we move on! I am sure David Norris will get a warm reception at Portman Road.....! Yeah Right!
Indeed a point away at Cardiff is not a bad result at all. But if only we had taken all three points, then we would be up to 5th! That's crazy considering the start we made. It is strange that when things are going well it goes a bit quite, but with a settle team that is getting points and playing well I guess there not much to say apart from well done PJ and the boys.
I think a point was probably a fair reflection of the game, Cardiff probably just had the edge for the first few minutes and got a deserved goal. Then Jason Scotland's goal came out of the blue and we pushed on from there, the middle part of the game we dominated possession without creating too many chances, although there was alot of good crosses going into the box with noone just being able to get on the end of them. The 2nd half started off much the same and we got a deserved lead but then we started to lose the midfield and our midfield when we have got the ball looks particularly poor, especially Bullard in the DM position, he looks a bit of a liability there sometimes. I thought the penalty decision was a bit harsh but then again 5 minutes later Cresswell completely took out their RB and that was an absolute stone wall penalty but the ref who was poor thank god didn't give it because I think he thought the last one was probably harsh. The ref made some poor decisions and was very petty for both teams, like Jewell said he looked out of his depth. After the penalty we were on the back foot and were fairly lucky to hold on in the end. I'd say on balance of play a draw was a fair result with both teams having chances to win it. Another MOM performance from Scotland, he was superb again but its a shame he didn't hit the back of the net with a second as he had a good chance to do so, he'd been cleanly hitting the ball all afternoon with his left foot and then when he gets a chance from a few yards out on his favoured right foot, he scuffs it. If that would have gone in I'm sure we would have gone on to win the match. The biggest concern I have from the match is Bullard playing in a defensive midfield position, I think he's wasted there and is very weak when we haven't got the ball. I would prefer it if Andrews played deeper and Bullard played further up the pitch. The problem with Bullard is, you can see he's just dieing to create an opening and he cannot really do that from a deep position, so sometimes he tries the overly ambitious ball which can put us in trouble when its from deep. Andrews although having a decent game had the poorest came I'd seen him in, he tried to many little flicks and too many difficult passes, when to me he is one of the best players I have seen at the simple one touch passing to get a move started. For me Andrews would be better deployed in the deeper role as he's very good with the quick one touch passing to set things off and he's better defensively than any of our other midfielders, I think this would then give Bullard the chance to play a bit further up the pitch so to use his creativity more and also hide his defensive frailties.
Its quiet because Ipswich have hardly any fans! Our attendances put you to shame even when we were in league 1. You are a tin pot club
I am a rich young man without the need to work yet I still do. Ipswich are ****e - why dont you just support Norwich?
