And a very Happy & healthy New year Warky, and all 606'ers...keep yer spirits up...we may yet see us climb the table and confound everyone! My glass is alwasy half full!
Of course the playoffs are still possible, in this league anything can happen!! I don't think we will make them this year, but i don't think we'll be that far off!! Its certainly not deluded to say something like this in this league anything can happen as its so tight.
Its the kind of thing he's got to say though isn't it. I agree with you Warky, we're unlikely to make play offs though its possible we can. The Leadbitter situation annoys me no end.
It is a massive game tomorrow against Forest and believe me this game will define our season. Forest haven't scored in 10 hours of football so what's the betting that they will score against us tomorrow? If we lose tomorrow then I am afraid to say that we will be fighting for our championship survival. A sad testiment indeed to Jewell's reign.
JWM you say that before every game, "believe me this game will define our season". Tomorrows game will not define our season, things can change so quickly in this division. How we have been playing recently and how Nottingham Forrest have been playing and not scoring, I would say this will be an accomplished home win. But this is the championship, where anything appears possible. What concerns me is the poor run Nottingham Forrest have been on recently has got to end eventually and with Ingimarsson and Delaney in defence I'm not overly confident that forrest will extend that 10 hours without scoring!! Hamps, we all want to aspire to be in europe, we should all aim as high as possible but first we have to evolve as a team and these things take time, they don't just happen over night, we need to be realistic about our chances this season!!
A defeat against a team that hasn't scored in TEN HOURS of football who will move to within 3 points of us at the bottom of the league and you don't think it will define our season! My god! Some of you are even more deluded than Jewell! We have got a hard run of games coming up after Forest and if we don't win today I will really begin to worry!
JWM you think every game will define our season, if you look back at nearly all your posts and clearly your wrong everytime because you always say the next game after that will define our season, you are full of many cliches!! How many games will we have this season that will define our season?? I'm geussing 46, so perhaps your right JWM, they will all define our season. A loss will not be very good but its not going to be the end of the world if it happens. A win would be very encouraging and mean we'd be 9 points clear of relegation with a game in hand. But this result will not define how we are going to do over the rest of the season.
I've got to agree with ptc on this one. There are times when a game might define a season or even longer, like Gallas' shenanigans a few years ago, but you can't ever know it in advance and you won't know for some time after. The game against Forest may define our season if something incredible happens, but so far no one game has done. The big win on TV a few weeks ago could have done but that's now been followed up with a draw v Leicester and a defeat at QPR so no surge has been forthcoming. Likewise the 7-1 defeat at Posh didn't set us off on the losing streak.
