I really like article, who's the writer?
Much as his comments about it being 'far too quiet' grate on me, it's only because i've been thinking them myself!

I've said this so many times. The day I like Mike Ashley, is the day the feeling of impending doom goes away.

It's a very good article, certainly a lot of what's written will be in the back of most of our minds. It smarts a bit though being told we are regarded in media circles as "The comedy club of the premier league"

Do we have to like Mike Ashley? Do Chelski fans go all weak at the knees when Roman Abramovic appears on the telly? Are Citeh fans queing up to join Sheik Mansour's harem? Do Sunlan' fans even know what Elliott Short looks like?

All that counts is that we appear, as a club, to be heading in the right direction, with the minimum amount of fuss and bother. That's all that matters to me, and most NUFC fans, I suspect.

Maybes the club management are learning from previous mistakes, I find a lot of people are still over sensitive over everything Ashley does. We're breaking even, flying high in the league and no matter what the press seem to say we have a good bunch of lads who've bonded well and as the article coached & prepared for every game at the moment.

Relegation season was a shambles though, and we still run the very serious risk of A) an injury crisis and B) losing key players on a free at the end of the year - most notably Colo.
The revitalisation of Alan Pardew, though... that's turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

They've also done what they can to guard against injuries to an extent by installing undersoil heating at the training ground, no more training in the snow & ice & being able to train everyday properly during the winter will lessen the risk of injuries. And Colo still got another year on his contract, that's why they're working on a new contract now to save having to accept a reduced bid in his final year like Jose. Another lesson learned.

It's ok we'd be able to afford Messi for what we'd charge the bindippers for Colo <ok>
