Roll up, roll up, the time has come the time is now......

Well, this is actually a 'personal' article, but i'm gonna cross reference it with our dear beloved football club, and hopefully i'm gonna inject some positivity into all the fantastic people who make our wonderful club, and it is a wonderful club, a wonderful club...

    I'll start with Saturday 14 May 2011.

    We lost 3-1 to Wolves.

    At home.

MIck Macs first win at the SOL.

We played some lovely stuff though mind, annoying to me that Steed and \bolo played some lovely one touch stuff together, i wondered what might have been if we'd seen them on the park together more often.

I saw some slapstick defending from crosses, and a lot of players in our team hving half chances to shoot, but instead playing sideways, i saw Sessegnon assulted and no penalty given, and i saw a defeat for my beloved team, a funny defeat, i didn't feel bad about it, didn't think the team overall did all bad.

I feel Bruce deserves a window, and we'll talk about him at Christmas.

    Well lads, June 6th 2011 i'm off.

We've bought an apartment in Marbella, 'row 1' as they call it, as in, unobstructed beach view, as in there's nothing in front of our place and the sea front.

I'm gonna go there, and in all honesty, i;m gonna feel less attached to Sunderland Association Football Club.

It'll still be in my heart, i've renewed my season ticket, i'll be over once a month to see friends, family, and the lads.

    Point of my article?

I woke up this morning knowing this would be the last time i KNEW i'd be at a home game at the SOL.

We normally go in a group of 8, but we had a great crew today, 31 of us, a hardcore 8 of us made it to this time, 02:53 am, at this point i am a wee bit worse for wear.

    I digress, so the point...

I knew in my heart of hearts that on this day so massive to me, that i would be let down by my team, and if i hadn't been, i'd probably been confused.

We are Sunderland, i am Sunderland, and today was the epitome of 23 years of following a club that always promises so much, and delivers so little.

I don't know if i'd want it any other way.

Next season i will be mostly watching Malaga CF, they are richer than Manchester City now, it's gonna be fascinating to see them develop.

It's gonna be a big change for me not being sat in MY seat in MY stadium watching MY team, but in a sick and perverse way, today was perfect for me, it reminded me of this.

No matter what, no matter when , no matter how, why whatever.

I am Sunderland, and i ****ing love it.

I'm just gonna have a better tan to ease the pain.

    Sunderland Association Football Club.

Consistently and loveably failing since 1973.

More addictive then a town sized hit of nicotine.

I love you, i'll miss you.

I'LL END ON A POSITIVE NOTE HERE, SIMPLE ONE,STEPHANE SESSEGNON IS MAGNIFICENT>

    Ramble over.

All the best BB they still have T'internet and Albanian Sky out there so no doubt we'll hear more of your thoughts. It'll make the odd games you do get to more of an adventure mate and no doubt it'll chuck it down for every one.

Enjoy it mate,Ive been away from Sunderland since I left school, so immune to homesickness, with internet and all the sports channels avaiable these days, you tend not miss as much as you thought you would, But I am going home for ten days as of the 21st, and the excitement and expectations get greater as the days roll by. so many old pals and familly to see, the pubs to visit, my pigrimage to wall of fame at the SOL , to look for old friends who have past on, and my visit to the club shop, debit card at the ready.whose biography will be on sale, dont know ,dont care, buying it anyway, back to you BB, al the very best in your new life and venture, but as you said yourself, you will be back, end every matchday the first result you need to see wont have changed.

Cheers all, don't even remember posting this i was paralytic.

1130 start, free bar whilst djing, then an extra 2 hours in Perdu, i'm amazed i could type!

I was 99% going even when i renewed, but it's a 2 hour flight, i can see myself getting to at least half the home games, and i am very close to my friends and family, so i'll be back often.

I'll even get to see every away game on tv over there, which will be a bonus.

Facts are that north east England offers very limited opportunities, and i feel like i've hit a brick wall here, i'm gonna go over there, work minimal hours for 3 months doing something i love, recharge and learn the language, then we're gonna look into opening a little coffee house/cake shop, something strangely missing from Marbella, a place where people come to totally chill out, hopefully get a good buzz about the place, and try and get it so that both the English and the Spaniards enjoy the ambience.

As/if and when it's up and running, i'll stick the name on here (i'll probably be on here MORE for being detached from the club!), and any not606ers that travel to Andalucia can pop in and you can have a free pint/coffee/cake on the house, and a good ****ing chat about the club!

I might even take you down to Malaga to watch the worlds richest club get taken apart by Barca! Ha.

have a look around this forum mate, there's loads of lads live away,

different things, different experiences, and a complete change of life.

only thing is, your gonna be near enough to get back for matches, so that's a big bonus, wish i could even as people put it we're ****e.

even when not going our way, people don't realise how lucky they are to be able to go and see their team play in the prem.

put's it all into prospective, not like we're playing in the lower leagues.

    good luck mate..

    Cheers marra.

It's crazy but the delay in doing things (we really should have been looking at making the move in march), was me dragging my heels while we still weren't safe in the league.

I've lived away before, in Tenerife when i was a young un, and in Manchester, Tenerife was too long a flight to get home, but i only missed a few games anyway, as it was a summer thing.

Manchester i missed only 2 games, when i couldn't get up, i went to Stockport, i couldn't live without live football, i get the same buzz every time i walk up to the SOL as i did going to my first game in 1986!

I'm hoping to grow a bit of love for CF Malaga, they have a passionate fan base, and a lot of ex-pats go to the games, so although it won't ever be a replacement for snouts, it'll be like a 'nicotine patch'!

Expect match reports on Malaga intertwined with Sunderland on here, and as i say i'll be getting to at least half our games i'd hope, more if i can manange it.

I'll NEVER give up my season ticket, the games i don't make it, i'll make sure a friend or relative uses the seat.

This country is ****ed, i have a good life, nice car and place, 2 decent paying jobs, yet i always feel that tinge of waste and boredom, of stress and pressure.

The Andalucian people encourage socialising and time outdoors, not sitting on your arse watching **** TV and waiting for Friday 5 o'clock.

I'm going into it with relish and excitement, and i can't ****ing wait to get over there.

Gonna spend a couple of weeks when i get there getting to know a few faces, and the area, and i'm gonna have a drive up to the north coast of Spain and have a look at Coruna, Santiago de Compostela and such, and a trek up to Bilbao, a hommage i've long wished to make to see the San Mames (i'll go back for a game next season, i've got some kind of unexplainable love for Bilbao, randomly).

Then it'll be hard graft, but it'll be sunny, it'll be new, and when all else fails i'll sit on my terrace overlooking the beach and think 'this is ****ing alright mind'.

I'll always be Sunderland, i'll always be Mackem, but i'm really ready for this new chapter.

I'm a grafter, and i have a few talents, so i'm sure i can make a go of whatever i decide to throw myself into, time will tell like <ok>

aye mate everything takes a different slant when your not there,

iv'e even started watching thai prem league, mind i havn't got a clue what any of them are called.

but like you said there are benefits, sitting on a terrace, and more time outdoors.

i'm fairly lucky, my job allows me lots of freedom, even take this bloody laptop to work, not that it ever gets used for work.

and never feeling cold, just wish i could get back more some time, but you appreciate more when your away.

anyway only 6 weeks till the latest edition to the mackem family, so i'll be busier...

I'm sure i can find you a lady of the night Syd, blonde or Brunette?

Congrats on that mate, if i've read it correctly!

And absolutely i won't miss the cold, was talking to the fella who's co-ordinating the move at the Spanish end, he says 'it's not all sunshine, it rains for a few days in winter, and it gets cold, as low as 14 degrees'.

I said '14 degrees? I'll be roaming the streets in my ****ing speedos mate!'

Good luck with your new adventure mate. We'll all still be here on 606 if you fancy a catch up and join in the 'debate'. Enjoy the Malaga sunshine, sea and warm fresh air - just like Roker beach in November DOH!

    Ha, 25!

I'll bin the jacket anything above 8, downgrade to a jumper, i ****ing hate being wrapped up!

Gonna keep a car in the uk so when i'm home i won't have to piss on with transport and cabs, it's actually cheaper by my sums to keep a car and insure it, leave it at my parents or a mates, than to hire/cab when i come home (assuming i'm home regularly of course)
