If the protests at the upcoming Southampton gathers pace for remaining home games, I've no doubt bates will be forced to sell. If his plaything that is Leeds, is no longer making money, he will go. I'm sure our top players would be happy to stay on in that scenario with the possibility of a new pay structure and investment in the playing staff. That is why it is imperative bates is removed before we lose any more of the quality players we have left. Who knows, with a proper overseas investor, we may even be able to look at resigning the likes of Delph or Howson in the future
While I broadly agree with what you are saying you perhaps have over-looked one quite major detail - KB will not leave until he is ready to do so, such is the stubbornness of the man (and most Chairmen). I say this because of past experience at our club when the fans turned on Robert Chase, the man who destroyed Norwich City in the mid 90's just as we were making a real go in the PL & Europe. It took months and months to get him to leave. I fear you guys will not have the time to save the likes of Snodgrass this summer.
Erm, I must have missed something. Who are all these people who are climbing over each other to buy the club? Aren't we being a bit arrogant to make the assumption that someone wants to buy us? They've had plenty chance before and we've never seen the colour of their money.
With some of the smaller clubs being taken over by rich investors, i am 100% there would be interest in leeds united. having to strike a deal with bates probs puts them off
Depends what your tactics are. If you just do the stuff at the stage we're at now like singing anti-Bates songs at demonstrations and pass banners round the station, true, he will stay. But if you make it more personal than that and make his time in the city hell whenever he visits, he could be forced out. It's also a matter of depriving him of our Elland Road money which makes up the majority of the club's turnover. Without that, his plaything will become meaningless and he'll sell.
Exactly the point Ive been making for quite a while. So two of us agree, how the hell do we get the masses to see the light?
Hopefully the Leeds United Supporters Trust will take a similar stance and will orchestrate protests and boycotts, meanwhile distributing leaflets and information to fans outside Elland Road to try and persuade them. This is a battle that will be won in pubs and living rooms. We need to persuade all our Leeds mates what a bad influence Bates is having and how we can fight back. There is no simple solution unless we get relegated or sell two or three more players. The fans must be won over one-by-one with the powers of persuasion, agitation and debate. Luckily, the facts are all on our side so we should win through in the end. It will just take some time. Even with a minority of Bates protesters, if we go for the 'making his life hell' route due to boycotting not getting a mass uptake, we could still drive him out. There are ways and means to oust this ****er yet.
