As you know, we have not be scoring enough goals lately.

A lot of people, fans, opposing fans, pundits, journalists, wums have been quick to point the finger at specific players, either trying to solve the puzzle or find some where to point the blame. Most of this has gone to Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing.

To say these players haven't delivered the end project yet (goals and assists) is true, but other players who are more than capable of doing this to are also not pulling it off so well. Some one has pointed out on here that Suarez has only scored 1 in the last 9 (though exceptional all-round play and creative moves let him of a fair amount) and also, Dirk Kuyt has struggled for goals big time this season. The goals from the midfield have been minimal to with only Adam, Henderson, Maxi and Gerrard scoring from midfield in the League this season (Adam and Maxi in the lead with 2) (many top teams live off goals from midfield).

Over all we have played ell this season. Our defence is solid, our passing more consistent, are passing neat, midfield creative, the team together and spirits are high. We are even creating plenty of chances.

Any way, I just want to say that it is a team thing, not a personnel thing. I believe the problem can and will be solved sooner rather than later.

We have many players who have proved to be top goal scorers in the past who are just a little off pace atm. But they can hit it again.

It's a mixture of things, Luck, Keepers, poor finishing and lack of confidence. If you look at the great Liverpool teams of the past they all have one thing in common, and that's having a top-class number nine. That player that when the ball drops to him in the last 5 minutes under immense pressure they'll put the ball in the net. Is Carroll that player? No, not yet anyhow. Sometimes it's the first goal for a striker which kicks him off, in our case it's the first big win that will start of us I'm sure.

do you think oru lack of goals motivates all these keepers to suddenly become top class, because thats getting very annoying

I agree with this! I think we have been trying too hard in front of goal to be honest, at times we are almost trying to be too perfect which possibly stems from a host of keepers having blinders against us. Its almost as if we are trying to hit the corner all the time which possibly explains the amount of times we have hit the woodwork and maybe Carrol's header last week that went inches wide. The problem is we probably don't have a natural finisher like Fowler or Rush who put the ball away on instinct. The closest we have is probably Gerrard really who is a top class finisher. I think the tension is really to blame, the top strikers have a natural ability to put the ball away without being casual, at the moment everyone almost expects to miss, so I guess its also largely belief too! There is no question though that some are underperforming also!

Sorry but i have to disagree, the team in general is playing well but when players are getting multiple opportunities to shoot on goal and not converting them then surely it's down to those individuals.

It's probably created a mental block. I reckon you'll eventually thump someone and suddenly your players will all become more prolific.

Yeah thats what we are both hoping and waiting for! I actually hoped the Villa game may have been the start of something but it seems we have to wait a little longer!

As shocking as he's been, I think Torres would have scored at hat full with us this season. He was always right place, right time and that's what were missing,

ahhhh, Torres. I agree 100% with you Bozz. I hate seeing him stuggling down in London. He left, made himself look like a complete dickhead, but I still think he would love to be back with us now, completing the jigsaw as it were. I personally believe we'll pip Chelsea nad Arsenal to the 4th spot and would love to hear what his PR advisor get's him to say then! Still don't understand why he did leave after Kenny came in and seemed to be getting him back to something like his old self.

Balls to Torres, lets get someone in who isn't crippled. Still don't know who though Cavani would be my choice but with Napoli in the CL there isn't much chance of that happening.
