I didn't hear the post-match interview, but I read this on the BBC report, quote Klopp: 'When you have shots on goal it's not about their defending. Their keeper made a few outstanding saves.' I'm sorry, but I beg to differ. The plain fact is our attack, as great as it is, can't make up for the frailties in defence, especially if those shots don't go in.
Our defence prevented them having opportunity to take many shots on their goal. Can't blame defence yesterday. Our attack let us down. 20+ shots most of which were taken hastily, at least half of which there was someone in a better position if the team weren't being greedy.
We'll always have games when we'll only get one goal despite our dominance. That's why it is absolutely essential to keep a clean sheet. It's the difference between the teams that win things and the teams that don't.
I think the annoying thing is it occurred after our 5-0 drumming away to City which I find very hard to forgive, 10 men or not
but then the city game happened AFTER the watford game where wijnaldum was weak at near post and firmino was middle of 6 yard box defending from corners. none of this is a shock and thats the problem. We keep doing odd things that make no sense to anyone watching on and we keep repeating the errors with different players.
