For now, we have to accept that there is a strong possibility of Tottenham finishing above us.

I would accept no silverware and 4th behind Spurs, for this season at least.

I think that Liverpool are too far behind to seriously challenge us and Chelsea, but its the west londoners we have to watch out for. Currently, we are stronger than them IMO, but it's January we have to worry about.

£150m was reported in The Sun yesterday, and while that's probably not true, Chelsea will have a sizeable budget for transfers. Gary Cahill is almost certain to join them, along with a striker and midfielder IMO. This will strengthen Chelsea to a point above our current squad, if they sign the right players.

The question is: Can Wenger Match it? We seriously need a striker to cover RVP, in addition to a creative midfielder and maybe a winger.

If we spend money, we will get into the top four, simple as. Otherwise, we might see Europa League football next season.

One thing that you fail to mention in your equation is Spurs lack of backbone. Inherited shortly after 1961 and whenever it looks like they will actually achieve something they self destruct. When you look at the many chances over the years they have had to overhaul you in the league yet always manage to pull defeat from the jaws of victory. So fear not young gooner its all a matter of time. :)

****ing, depressing day. If we find ourselves below the top 4 come the end of the season, then today is one of those days to look back on and go 'WHY?'

We're not quite half way through the season yet. The second half of the season is notoriously difficult for clubs with games coming thick and fast (although Spurs have neither Champions League football or Europey league football after being knocked out by POAK <laugh>)

A lot can change. As my learned friend said - the fat lady hasn't even begun warming up yet....

With Spuds leaving us for dead - we are relying on catching Chavski - and no doubt they will use the cheque book shortly.
