I have been filling the gaps between the floorboards over the last couple of weeks and doing the last bit tonight - stay with me. I tape the board completely and just leave the gap exposed. I am running out of tape - bad news - have to paint the floor tomorrow 1st thing. The tape runs out. I hunt around for more and find 3 nearly finished rolls. They total the exact amount I need to the millimetre. Game on.

We're gonna do it boys, and Beth, we're gonna ****in do it.

It's their very best imo. We've all done it at some times in our lives haven't we? Focused/fixated on something necessary/mundane to distract our minds?

What colour are you painting it?
I once painted a floor black and regretted it almost immediately.

It's called skimming stone - farrow and ball colour - white basically, but the missus wants a wash effect, so it's a watered down, paint on, wipe off scenario. It's been a grim orange varnished colour for 6 years with huge draughty gaps between the boards, so anything is an improvement. Gonna start painting now so I can get the room back together ready for 3 pm.
