I'm rarely positive but I'm right about what im about to say.

They have forgotten the pain of Derby defeat and it will hurt more when it happens.

For us it's as routine as brushing our teeth right now.

I am not bothered to be honest as there were more positive signs around the way the team played, the win for Sunderland papers over the cracks in reality as they are even more lacking in quality and will struggle badly.

It might im just saying its far from over but in my experience he who laughs last laughs loudest and this astonishing run statistically will end sooner rather than later.

I know the record breaking 6 game run will end eventually. Who laughs last could be Bournemouth, Watford, Norwich, villa etc at both our expense for all we know.

If you're starving and someone throws you a cracker you going to be like " **** me thats the best damn cracker ive eaten in my life", however if you keep eating them eventually you're going to be like " hey that's just a regular old cracker"

Apply that ideology in reverse? You've gone from enjoying crackers so long and ended up feeling starved which would definitely hurt more than when you had loads of crackers.

    In otherwords im right

Maybe if you're applying to your own character, which says a lot. But everyone is different. It will hurt some while others will brush it off.

I think the losers always try and brush it off to soften the blow, fact is they're important games and losing them hurts. It's a natural reaction to try and down play their importance after defeat.

It's similar to when teams look dead and buried in a relegation scrap, you get fans coming out saying rubbish like "relegation will be good, we can clear the decks" and "at least the fans in the championship are genuine fans". It's just nonsense.

I will say that for me this one doesn't hurt as much as the others even though they've got the 6 in a row record and the only reason for that is because this is the first one in the 6 where we've turned up and clearly deserved something from the game. I can handle the defeat much better this time because the team clearly gave their all and bar some bad luck, poor finishing and a couple of contentious refereeing decisions we could've easily been the team celebrating a victory.

Fair play to Sunderland, they capitalised on a bit of good fortune today but that's not their fault. All derby defeats hurt but they're at least bearable when the lads turn up and put a shift in.

I tried to put our past behind us, however you're irritating me again.

Why don't you go and tell your mammy on me this time.

Sunderland might have won yesterday but you've lost your dignity for eternity buster.

Nah! Total opposite for me. When you beat us next I will be disappointed, beat us again even more so. Each defeat would be like the knife going deeper and deeper. I had plenty of practice at this emotion back in the day when yous used to whop us all of the time.
