It wasn't McCarthy's fault.

Now while we all know Alex McCarthy is a Leeds fan, he is also a quality 'keeper, and I can't understand for the life of me while Jewell has come down on him so hard for instinctively catching a ball that had been headed powerfully to his side straight at his goal. Surely it should be Sonko who is the target of your manager's ire and not McCarthy and the understandably nervous sub 'keeper? Keep the faith with McCarthy and he'll come through, no doubt in my mind that the lad's a future England international. <ok>

If you've seen McCarthy's performances so far for us I would be surprised if he gets another game. He came running out at 100 miles an hour, there wasn't a lot wrong with Sonko's header and McCarthy has got to know where his area is!

That all said he is a long way from the only thing wrong with the team. Jewell was bang out of order for apportioning that kind of blame and the buck stops with Jewell.

He is a big pile of poo and his errors over the last 3 games have cost us points! He has been saying that he loved his time at Leeds so maybe thats why he gave a gift on Saturday! Jewell is a complete ****ing moron to have ever brought him here as he plainly isn't committed to Ipswich in any way. If this twat loves Leeds so much why doesn't he **** off back there! <ok>

you've got to ask why the keeper was running out of his box when it seemed the defender was in control of the situation?! mind you, it was bloody hilarious <laugh>

Sounds harsh but we would have beaten Blackpool 2-0 if McCarthy was half decent, terrible flap for the first, and a drilled effort straight at him allowed easily to go under him.

Yesterday, all 3 goals were some of the most utterly unfathomable pieces of football I have ever seen, is someone paying these guys to utter f**k up!?

Need to get a permanent keeper in, as well as the rest!

McCarthy looked to have it covered and Sonko headed it which baffled McCarthy,

3 clean sheets in 6 games infront of the worst defence ive seen at elland road
    1 penalty save
1 outstanding performance v Burnley tells me he is class, Sonko who was solid for 70 minutes had a ****ing mare what a pass to Snoddy haha

Whilst McCarthy hasn't done great for us so far, there is probably a decent keeper in there somewhere but even though we have terrible CB's and it was Sonko's fault for the first goal, ALB for the 2nd and Smith's for the 3rd it was McCarthy's fault for his sending off, what the hell was he doing rushing out of his area when Sonko would have most likely dealt with the situation?? As much as I don't rate Sonko he cannot be blamed for that sending off.

Although he probably has such a lack of confidence in our defence that he thought he had to take matters into his own hands, literally and play as sweeper aswell as GK, shame ALB wasn't as quick of his line for the 2nd goal.

I thought Sonko was solid for 70 minutes like the rest of your team, I said to my pal how are these so far down and then you literally fell to pieces, all the players **** themselves

It wasn't so very long ago that Norwich fans were pointing the finger at Ruddy as the weak link.Keepers have wobbles, that's what they do.I went to school with Lawrie Sivell BTW.

What confuses me is Sonko was running back towards the goal, looking straight at McCarthy, what did he think he was doing?

In the end I don't think Sonko really like the rest of us knew what McCarthy was doing, I'm not sure what else he could have done other than head it out for a corner!!

How is handling the ball outside the box not the GK's fault then?

Because if he didn't Sonko's header was going in the goal. It was instinctive.

    The best bit is;

Leeds fans (and this guy in particular) thinks that both McCarthy and Lonergan are both better than Kasper Schmeichel.

God, you're obsessed. A Leeds fan posting on the Ipswich board and you still can't stop with the Schmeichel love.

I saw you had posted a 'it wasn't McCarthy's fault' thread on the Town board and having seen the goal and knowing what you're like it was a thread I couldn't miss <laugh>

I thought you were suggesting McCarthy had conceded a goal.
