To come up with our best ever Sunderland 11, know what, I think we failed.

Look who did not make it, Baxter,Rowell,Irwin,Quinn and lots, lots more.

Did we get it right, the team we ended with is....

    MONTY
    KUBICKI......HURLEY..WATSON....ASHURST after recount
    KERR.....BALL...CARTER.....MAGIC
    CLOUGH..SKP

Darius Kubicki ahead of Johnny Kay?

Both great servants, but that's a surprise for me. Dennis Tueart could've got a sniff too, IMHO.

Not exactly the team I would have chosen (Stan Anderson for Kerr, Charlie Fleming for Clough [maybe]) but if that were officially to be our team, I have no complaints.
Sorry to show my ignorance, but who is Magic? (I feel embarrassed asking the question as it's obviously somebody important. I haven't been able to follow the thread from midfield onwards so don't know who was discussed.)

I'd go for the well known Brazillian formation 2-2-6.

    Monty
    Hurley...Ashurst
    Kerr...Carter...
    Clough..SKP... Quinn... Gurney... Buchan... Shackleton

Would love to have seen Kevin Ball playing in front of HM Charlie Hurley and Dave Watson. The full backs would have their work out because not much would be getting through that central defense. Up front a prime-time SKP and Quinny in front of playmaker Shack would do nicely too. And Gary Bennett on the subs bench in case the oppo contains any bolshie little scots twat.

    Team of MY lifetime....

    Sorensen
    Kubicki......Bould...Ord....Gray
    Summerbee.....BALL...Hutchison.....Arca
    Quinn..Phillips.

Subs - Norman, Bennett, Rae, Schwarz, Bridges, Gabbiadini.

I have a feeling in 2 years time this will look VERY different.

I can justify every one of them, if anyone begs to differ, bear in min my first match was 23years ago, a LOT of **** has been through the club!

Actually, this is a great idea.

After a run of 3 defeats, it'll remind us all how lucky we are!

    I'm on it!

BB. Remember, some of us are getting on a bit, so you've got to be a bit patient when we keep repeating our votes.
