That Martin O'Neill wasn't happy & was considering the possibility of jacking in at the end of the season & that his family weren't happy as they could see the job taking it's toll on him. Also says John Robertson wouldn't come because he can't stand the modern day footballer. All from a "source" ofcourse so don't know how true it is. Steve Coppell also reckons that foreign owners are spoilt brats & he's more than likely had a bust up with O'Neill after he game.

Steve Copell has no idea about how the club is run or about Short so he shouldn't make statements such as that

Ive heard Short was thousands of miles away so it sound premeditated and not rash like I originally thought

All speculation... Only the guys in the room at the time know what who was there, what was said and by whom.

I'd bet my life I know more than he does. Same sort of people acting shocked when we sacked Bruce, people who haven't a clue about the club.

My feeling is that Short had pretty much made his mind up at QPR when we lost 3-1. He was there and was reportedly seething, and why not? After giving Mr O'Neill £30m to spend to hear him bemoan a lack of quality is surely going to anger him.

He probably watched the match yesterday and because of our lack of any genuine threat (1 shot on target all game which was right at the end!) felt the same way most of us did - that we were headed down

Yeah he wasn't at the game. If he didn't watch on the tele I'm sure he was informed we were once again toothless

Think that it must have been playing on Shorts mind for a while now. For all we know the bloke might check out football forums to gage the reaction of fans & see if theyr'e happy or not. Can remember somebody posting on here at the start of the season that a friend of theirs had spoken to O'Neill before the season kicked off & wished him luck & he replied believe me were going to need it. If true then he must of envisaged a season of struggle himself. Supposedly were going to have a new manager appointed well in advance of the Chelsea game so Short must have been working in one form or another behind the scenes for a while possibly planning something out in his own mind if nowt else.

You are the lowest base element of a man and certainly no SAFC fan.

Take yourself and your bell end thoughts and shove it up the orifice you speak out of so readily.

And you seem to be having a ball because of it.

No SAFC supporter worth his salt would be revelling in this decision today so **** off back to the mags board or wherever you really support. You ain't no Sunderland fan for sure.

sad thing is with all of this is that wev'e got a bunch of ****s over there that are getting paid tens of thousands a week & probably don't give a toss about the predicament that were in, certainly not as much as the fans for sure, a predicament of their own doing. Shouldn't be fighting amongst ourselves, we'll still all be here when theyv'e moved on.

Shorts also announced that he's got a main man that he's going for, somebody that can fire a team up by the sounds of it, and a few of the names mentioned so far have been ruled out. Maclaren, Hughes, Di Matteo. Judging by that sounds like could be Di Canio but all just guess work atm.
