Good morning campers, how do I find you this fine morning?

I know I’m getting old because when I was out at 5.30 with the dog it was cold, the snow was falling and I could feel the wind biting into my face. Thank god we lost that cup game I thought, no fancy for going to a football match today in this weather,
Man U v Crawley on the box sounds a far better idea.

This forum has sod all to do with me, don’t own it or have any real control over it but it’s sort of become important to me. Yes I know it’s just an internet forum and despite what many may think I do actually have a life, the problem is with my life is Sunderland football club. You see they have been a part of my life for over 50 years, not the most important part because I do have a son and grandson, loved many a woman and actually married two of them, built a good career and have a family and group of friends.

Over the years the importance of the club and football has gone up and down depending on what life has thrown at me but it’s always been there, often in the background but always there.

Now I have the one thing that raising families and building careers kept in short supply, I have time and that gives me the luxury of devoting lots of that time to my passion, SAFC. This forum gives me the place and community that enables me to share that passion.

I love how we strangers have got to know each other, even though we don’t really. How we have started to help each other, advise each other and how our community is developing and growing. I have said a number of times how football forums and the faceless internet fascinates me, We all have prejudice of some sort but when you take away the names and the faces you are left with views and opinions to judge on and suddenly race, religion, sex, colour and even sexual persuasion are unimportant.

There, I have managed to do it again, started to write about one thing and rambled myself into a completely different direction. I blame the cold weather.

Hope you have a good day my friends wherever you are and whatever your plans for the day.

Once again Syd another decent read. As im a year younger than you, I havent found myself rambling in a different direction yet. Maybe that will start next year when I reach 62yrs. In the mean time keep yourself warm, turn up the heating and use some of that allowance the government gave you at christmas.

Joking arnt you, that allownce is long gone, the good thing about having time I have outleined, the bad thing is that children try to constantly fill that time by off loading grand children and grand children constantly try to spend said allowance.

Time to get the old bucket out and do some collecting before you enter the SoL at the next home game. PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY grandchildren to SUPPORT.<wah>
