MARTIN Jol is happy for David Stockdale to extend his stay at Hull City â as long as number one Mark Schwarzer remains injury-free. The England keeper has made five appearances for the Tigers since his loan move last month, but is due to return to Craven Cottage in January. Hull boss Steve Bruce is keen to retain the 27-year-old, and Fulham counterpart Jol is happy for the former York City youngster to remain at the Championship club as long as Schwarzer stays fit. âAs long as Mark is fit he will stay there,â he said. âWe have a recall clause and if necessary we will get him back. If not, then he will stay there.â http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/fulham-fc/2012/12/17/82029-32443976/?
He seems to have a pretty good appearance rate so we should be OK with Stockdale fingers crossed, good news!
They're apparently after Maarten Stekelenburg in January as well. Stockdale will be further down their pecking order, which is good for us.
If he's with til the end of the season then they can't recall him after January unless they get special permission from the FA. Liverpool did that with Gulacsi last season but I think that's because all 3 parties agreed to the move. I'm sure if we want the rules enforcing properly they won't be able to recall him.
This is good news, he looks to be gaining confidence with every game, and the defense obviously have faith in him. Lets hope we can keep him until the end of the season then buy him.
Fulham manager Martin Jol has confirmed that GK David Stockdale will remain @ Hull City for the season on Loan UNLESS something happens to Mark Schwartzer. Then he will be re-called. But it looks like Hull city have a better than evens chance of keeping Stockdale in the summer when we are PL once again. Over to the fans now...................
So who gets the FAC game then ? Amos or Jakupovic ? if its not Amos then i would think he is going back to MU.
Your probably right, by the time January comes around Oxley will be fit again and I think they will send Ben back. I've heard they aren't as impressed with him as they first thought, he's nowhere near as good as Stockdale (their words not mine, I agree to a point but I wouldn't have been so definite.). Good luck to him in the future, I expect he will go the way of Tom Heaton or Ron Robert Zieler and find a new, relatively decent club and become their number 1. Jakupovic will probably get the FA Cup game, he needs a competitive appearance.
