http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b016vq3t This suggests that we will be the main game again. The BBC have finally got their priorities right!
Never mind, next season you will be like us. Last or second last on MOTD. They hate red & white stripe over there.
I think it's mostly that we've been playing all the teams around us, at the top. Plus, we are the Main News of the Championship™ at present. We've still got that ex-Premier League Football Club appeal.
I bet no one would have thought that Saints v Boro would be a top 2 clash at the start of the season. P**pey fans must be getting sick of the sight of us now!
Once again, another tumbs up from me for the BBC. People give them stick - often unjustified - but the simple fact is they can't dedicate a large portion of time to every game. If they did, MOTD would run well past midnight whilst TFLS would still be on come dawn on Sunday morning! General rule of thumb is obviously to prioritse those at the top of the table (which invariably are the bigger sides), especially when it's a top of table clash, and for once here we are as a top of table side in a top of the table clash. I never had a problem with us being towards the end of MOTD, because we weren't Man Utd or Liverpool or challenging for the title, and I never had a problem with having to wait over an over for about 15 seconds of footage on TFLS, because there was a whole league above us. I accepted all that. But the boot now on the other foot, we're rightly, and fairly, getting some priority coverage.
If, like me, you enjoy watching all the highlights and not just the Saints game, you wouldn't mind waiting until the end of the programme. I can't wait until we're on MOTD again.
Fully agree st_brendy although some fans (Leicester, Leeds, West Ham) will feel they are entitled to some decent highlights
They waste ages on the Football League show with pointless coach shots, managerial interviews and Clem's ridiculous lectures. If they axed that bullshit and showed a couple more highlights for each Championship game, I'd be reasonably happy. They often show too much of the 'main game' as well - even when it's Leeds I get bored with some of the half-chances which take up time that could be devoted to a crossbar-hitting Reading effort later in the show, for instance.
To be fair to TFLS, they have cut down on the non-highlights stuff this season. For instance, they no longer do that stupid text and email feature with the woman in the room behind Manish.
That's true. Though they still need to cut out some of the waffle like I say. I don't mind the analysis they do after each game, but I think they'd be better off having separate analysts for Divisions Two, Three and Four rather than just relying on Claridge who completely bluffs his way through trying to talk about whether Aldershot have sufficient strength in depth to mount a solid playoff challenge.
They already have Leroy Rosenior, Claridge and Andy Ritchie working for them. Wouldn't cost them that much more to wheel in a couple of new pundits. And they'd be saving the wages on that useless oaf 'Clem', too.
The BBC must be fair to everyone, so each week they show a different team. They will show the game involving our opponents. This week it's Middlesborough, next week it will be Coventry. Fairs, fair
Those ****ers on MOTD are rubbish. Lineker has ears like the FAcup handles, Shearer boring as ****, that little squeeky twat Lawrenson & grumpy old Hanson. They are top four obsessed, whenever one of the big teams get beat it's always cos they were ****e & the other side never get any credit. Then again, I'm biased cos they don't seem to like us. Lawrenson has us down to win this weekend so that's us ****ed!
