I see that our new England supremo has appointed the old Barnsley keeper Dave Watson to "work alongside Ray Clemence" as a goalkeeping coach. Chances are we will take three goalkeepers and two coaches for them. Why not take three so they can have one each. No doubt the plane out will have 22 players, 24 coaches, 18 psychologists, 48 agents and goodness knows how many FA hangers on. They will need their own 747. Its the same old story of jobs for the boys
Hodgson will bring in people he knows and trusts to work with him. I've no problem with that at all. Why don't we just let him get on with the job he's been appointed to do in the way he thinks best? The consensus seems to be that he's the right man for the job
I heard this morning that he's brought the Birmingham goalie coach on board - wonder if this means he's more likely to take the young keeper from Birmingham along for the trip at the expense of JR?
No problem with that but why do we need two goalkeeping coaches for 3 goalkeepers? Sack Clemence if Watson is better. And Watson was the one who shared the Under 21 spot with our own Andy Marshall.
Short answer surely is that goal keepers require/benefit most from one-to-one coaching. So I guess the next question is why only two then?
